Independent, commercial, growers are all shitting their pants because of "legal" Wal-Mart or McDonald's type compitition - well, the truth is "Business is , what business is!".

McDonald's may sell "Billions" and Wal-Mart may be putting lot's of "Mom and Pop Shops" out of business, but there is also another "Truth" out there! "Fat Burger" and "In-N-Out" kick McDonalds' ass, when it comes to quality, loyalty or taste - HANDS DOWN! And Wal-Mart doesn't really sell that much "High End" merchandise - they mostly sell the most "bang" for the buck! Both companies sell a lot of mediochre merchandise at low prices, their real compitition is from other suppliers of "mediochre products". There will always be a "Market" for true quality!

What i am getting at is, "Connoissure Buds" will always draw "Top Dollar" and you can't grow that shit on a production line!

The problem is that the only reason people make good money off selling this plant is because of the black market, and don't kid yourself, there are a lot of people domestically getting very wealthy off prohibition. Those people know that their large revenue streams will dry up quite a lot if prohibition were lifted. That's really what it boils down too. If you don't like large corporations forming monopolies, then I'm all with you, but to turn the question of prohibition into a question of your feelings about large companies seems a little off the point to me.

In many legal medical dispensaries, the price of marijuana is not determined based on what it takes to produce, or anything that really has to do with the legal value of the product. It is priced based on the black market cost, low enough that patients will use it instead of the black market products, but expensive enough that it won't be resold by patients on the black market. The governments attempts at prohibition drive the price of the black market, which in turn now drives the price for our legal outlets. Remove the black market, and the price for marijuana will come in line with the true value of the plant (plus tax of course). After many many years it really does look like the way to end the black market is to end prohibition.

Apologies if I went off topic there, it's something I'm passionate about :)
