Cheese problem

Hi all i have 8 bluberry cheese in a 8 pot bubbler system came up to have a look today after three days and they dont seem to be growing at all after three weeks in veg under a 600w dual spectrum sunmaster i think three have died and there is like a gunk around the top edge of the water does anone know what this is any advice appreciated
