Christmas tree strain?

For years I was seeking the same "Christmas Bud" and came upon the 79 Xmas Bud.... I ran a few and the terps are Very very strong pine. Its the closest that I have come to what I remember being the Christmas Bud from the 90s. I'm pretty sure its the same strain. Definitely smells just like a pine tree or evergreen. you won't be disappointed in the terps. I did an open pollination with mine, so I didn't smoke any of the bud, but the terps are spot on. I got mine from a different source but they came from the same original seed stock as CSI humboldt I was told. BTW I labeled them as Pine Tar Kush but that is actually not correct. The pics/plants I grew were 79 Xmas Bud.

many of the good xmass tree strains atre with colectors and strain hunters sadly kept fairly close to them

I remember it, mid eighties in same area. Probably a safe bet there is no one holding a cutting of it, the source most likely didnt understand asexual propogation. What you were getting back then was from seed every year, thats why it was around only in the fall every year. At that time and place there were only a few growers and all were outdoor from seed every year. You could find something close but what we had that far back is gone.

The bottoms not far from my place smelled strong like it starting around early October.

Kind of figured the same as you said

Hes most likely 100% spot on.

Back then, it was mostly breeders that held onto cuts, regular joe growers werent keeping cuts and probably didnt even know you could or know how.

Theres a million weeds i smoked in the 90s-early 2000s that are either lost forever or ppl are not letting cuts go.

do you have any seeds from the open pollination? I assume you pollinated a 79 xmas bud female with a 79 xmas bud male?

im super interested in some seeds dude! I haven't had any pine smelling stuff for years, I get paid oct 22nd so will throw you some money your way! I really look forward to hearin from ya

Check CSI Humboldt for the seeds, I believe they still have them.

If you go to the Useful seeds thread here on RIU and ask around you might find luck in getting some Christmas beans. I know useful made a bunch and was giving them away but he might have ran out. Someone over there should have more info possibly.
