Clear and yellowish run off water

I got 2 plants that I fed same same nutrients. One came out very clear/transparent water, while the other clear out yellowish/orange.
Im assuming that the clear water runoff is clear, because all the nutrients was absorbed in the soil and only the water was runoff. And the other plant was yellowish because the soil absorbed as much nutrients as it could and the rest was runoff.
If my theory is correct let me know and if I'm wrong definitely let me know.
