Clone moms: minimum size?

I'm just trying to be ready when these are ready to clone. How big (or other indicator) do the mothers need to be before you start snipping?

Just needs to have enough branches to support losing a few.

Topping the plant will encourage more side branching - you can use the top as a clone if cut long enough.

Clones should be 2-3 inches minimum, and I like to have the branch / new stem to be on the woody side rather than flexible.

i thought it was all about how big the clones are over 5 inches should be fine. Dont know how old or big the mom should be. Anyone

I've seen a lot of people clone early with no problem..
