Clone or seed? best for lst? top? early flowering? etc. etc. Pros/Cons

i'm starting to plan my next grow, heres the dilemma:

i have a bunch of seeds regular and feminized, but my buddy just said he could get me a couple cheese clones.

which should i grow?

i only have enough space for two plants (im more of a hobby grower)

i plan on vegging with cfls then flowering with a 250w hps.
i also want to top/lst and go for an even canopy.

pros/cons of seed/clone

ps ive only have experience with seeds

Clones are much better to start with. You already know the genetics of the plant. Its a guarantee female. You already have establish roots so growth will be faster. You get that pheno of the plant you cloned from.

Seeds are always good to have, because you can store seeds almost forever, and start up your grow where ever and when ever. You can store seeds in the smallest area. With seeds depending on the genetics of the plant, its a toss up on pheno. So when you get that great pheno its time to breed your plant to make that pheno heavier in the new seed.

I prefer clones, much easier and faster to do single cola grows.

Since your only growing 2 plants, I wouldn't do a single cola grow, single cola are better for multiple plants in a small area. Yes you will be able to top/lst your clone no problem. And for a 2 plant grow thats exactly what I would do. Get as many top main colas as you can.
