clone question/mainlining

Hey everyone, first time posting. Quick question..so someone just gave me a clone, and they had taken her off of an early flowering plant. Theres small bud starts and a couple hairs instead of growth tips coming out of the stem, im just wondering if I was to top her at her third node, (probably use the top clipping as a new clone) would the bud starts revert into growth tips? Or if I was to top it at the 3rd node, would she just sit there confused and not sprout my new tops? Sorry if thats a dumb question, I dont have much room and this girls already about 1/3 the height of my space.

Just let it grow out . You don't want to put any more stress on it. It will start to grow new leaves again it will take a few weeks. Only thing you can do is nothing!
If you want to top it you can you just have to wait.

If its of a regular plant then there is no reason why you can't take the top off and revert, back to 18/6.

Not a daft question at all your first grow and more new growers will get the info too,a plant can be flowered out and just leave a few bottom stems on it and just put back on 18/6 and it will re veg.

I know a few that have done this and it has worked out good, but the only problem i don't like about the method is that after vegging and flowering it will be root bound so will need re potting again and most indoor grows have limited space so thats the only proble plus the stress levels, the plant goes through by doing this.

But if its a young clone then re veg it might even be a pistol that clones sometimes shoot out because the mother plant has reached full sexual maturity, this causes the plant to have the odd white hair shooting from the odd node, depends on how old the mother is the clone was taken off.

I have done it before when i have had a clone only strain and the guy i got the genetics from moved so i just put her back on 18/6 after flowering and cloned a new mother not ideal but sometimes it has to be done.
