clone questions/veg questions

I just pick up some clones 4 days ago.My question is:"If i transplanted them into 4inch pots & put them under my 400watt mh,does that mean it's veg day 1? I ask because some people say that the clones have to have a certain amount of leaves before veg?????

Next question: "Whats more important for my plants, cal-mag plus or liquid karma?" I'm on a budget for another week or so,so I have to pick one or the other? Right now I have my girls in "Aurora roots organic soil" & have added "Humbolt Roots" & "Myco Madness" nutrients both from humbolt nutrients. My local hydro shop employee advised me that the soil has all nutrients needed for veg & if i add the humbolt roots & myco madness that I will fine during veg cycle. I plan on transplanting my girls from the 4'' pots to 3-5gal pots in 2-3 weeks.

my local hydro shop employee told me that my soils nutrient is good up to 3 weeks,so if i transplant my girls at 2.5weeks into fresh new soil,will i even need a "grow" nutrient for veg cycle? I was planning on just using my "soil(it gots nutrients)/humbolt roots/myco madness/cal-mag plus/liquid karma, during veg.......any help is much appreciated.Thanks for your time.

soils not really my thing but I can say your plants may be in veg. It has less to do with how many leaves it has and more so the rate that it grows and produces new nodes. I cut my clones smaller so by the time they're the height of yours they're putting on a half inch per day.

Thanx Skunk n the trunk, this is my first grow.little new at this. Should they be growing 1/2inch a day? It's day 4 in veg, my (4)-purple ak-47's were between 2.5''-3'' tall on day 1, & my 4-purple cadillac's were 4.5''-5'' tall.I'm going to have to check em, see whats changed....thanx again
