Clones in a cup

Aiight, so yesterday I cut bout 7 clones from my friends mother plant. My plan was to keep them in a cup of tap water until they grew roots, then transplant. (And yes ik not the best way compared to rapid rooters n ish but just for personal use) but Im not using a humidity dome, and I'm worried bout the clones getting too much light and it's not humid enough. (Though i did put saran wrap under the light so its not as strong) People r always bashing on other people about how clones can't have direct light.. buutt I've seen multiple videos saying otherwise. So idk, this is my first time growing and I don't want to kill my clones lol.

So Any thoughts ???
Any advise or opinions would rlly help!! :bigjoint:

First, light is fine. My clones go directly under T5 whites.

I have more luck personally planting my clones in Promix or some other slightly enriched peat as opposed to just dropping them in water.
