clones taking long to root - overfed mother?

I am curious whether overfeeding a mother can lead to clones taking longer to root.

I've got a plant that was overfed and I've been watering it with ph'd RO water for like a month, it hasn't started to yellow or look unhealthy at all yet, but when I water I am not doing the usual 20% drainage, much less than that, so I think that the plant is still uptaking nutrients dissolving in the water.....

anyway, I took some clones from that plant and after 10 days in rapid rooters there are still no signs of roots. Just today one of the clones' leaves started looking a tiny bit yellow but otherwise they are perky and healthy.

I've got them on a heat mat, used a dome the first few days, warm enough in the room, not keeping them too wet, etc, but this same strain usually roots for me in like 6-7 days.

Is it possible/likely that the clones just had too many nutrients stored up and it's taking longer to go through them before the plant wants to make roots?

I think it's probably that the mother is under stress so she released hormones. But the little plant will right itself and root it will just take a couple more days, 3+ more apparently. I would let it pale up a little before I considered foliage feeding it or anything.

there is a ton of info on here about proper cloning techniques . and you are using a heat mat . there are a lot of opinions about heat mats . and there may be a lot of fights about heat mats . throw that garbage away keep the water or rooters under 70 to be safe from fungi . prefer 60 ish to 65 f so they will root . what are your temps ? heat mat 95 to 100 f ?

i used a heat mat once in my grow life for clones....white mold is the business! :(
