You chose and please be clear why!!!!
I'm hoping that we can find an answer to the best start in our growing days. Looking for big yeild and I want to know does it start with seed or can it come from clone?

clone, of course!!

A clone is taken because the plant stood out from others in terms of yield and quality.

When you grow from seed it's a toss up if your even going to get a female and on top of that if your going to get a good phenotype.

Saddly it was the seed company telling me I can get a 750 grams per square meter. I've now grown the same strain (Jack herer) three times and every time I'm real happy with the quality just I'm not seeing the big yeild it's telling me about. I'm now growing the same strain with clones I got to root and am hoping to see that 750 grams per square meter.

Grow from seeds and then clone the plants you like. Then you'll know what you are going to get everytime, not to mention you can experiment with harvest times and dial it in to perfection. The only thing I've noticed is the clones don't seem to grow as well as the plants from seed, could just be me though.

That's what I've been thinking till this guy told me clones are usualy from good pheno types and because of that your getting the best every time.

That could all depend on who you are getting the clones from also. Are they selling clones that are fast to grow and easy to clone to sell quickly ? While the killer stuff they keep back for themselves ? Is it your buddy and you know the smoke is good and the clones are from the same plant ? A lot of variables, just like one person's definition of good weed might be crap weed to someone else.

I guess it just depends on where the clones are coming from and if you have a chance to sample some of it before getting them. Starting with seeds you should know what to expect and you can clone your own.

My mother plant is a giant Jack herer that's been living in my back closet for three months. It keeps getting right up against the light. So now even though I already have plenty of rooted clones growing in the other room just past week one under the 1000 ;-) Im realy liking the look of these new branches on the mother right now. Can anyone show me how I can take a few clones root them and switch them out for a few ugly ones in the grow room? They'll probly to far along to replace them now?

If you are going to start with clones you need to know and trust the place you got them from...Peace

i agree with everyone.. if your getting your clones from someone, you have to know that they are the best clones that you can get taken from the best mother plant out of the bunch.. but i like to grow from clones that i have taken myself and therefore know the genetics are solid and have what i am looking for..
the nice thing about growing from seeds is that out of a ten pack you may come across a few with different pheno's and than you can pick the one that you like and clone it yourself

I've found it's the same with seeds, not always what I thought I was getting.
Can't take the poll, I've had identical results outdoors with clones and seeds side by side.

Clones give you pre sexed plants hopefully from a very strong healthy high yeilding mom... It saves me the hassle of sexing plants and growing out plants that may wind up on the trash heap.... my clone source has good strians and phenos...

What about fem seeds? Don't they give you what you want every time? The price is for sure when it comes to paying for them. You mean that even though there feminized it doesn't mean good pheno type? I about to buy fem white widow seeds and was going to get 12 of them to fill my growing room. But now I'm thinking why not just buy one and grow it out to be a mother plant from a feminized seed? That would save me a small fortune.

If you are on a time constraint then you can go with fem seeds but you still risk the plant turning out to be a herm. So I think it's easier to buy regular seeds and then sort out the males. You usually get 50% or higher ratio with regular seeds and you save money that way. Everyone has there own way and reason for doing things and you aren't guaranteed to get that ratio with regular seeds but it seems from what I know to work out that way.
