cloning a plant close to flowering

:leaf:Hello!

This is my first time growing. I have 8 plants in the last stage of veg and I really want to cut clones from the bottom of my plants to save money on clones for the next grow. I had a friend tell me it would make my plants less vigorous. So I guess my question is, will it hurt my plant?

Hey buds no taking cuttings off the bottom of your plants wont hurt them if anything it will increase the potency of the buds. this happens because all those tiny chutes on the bottom that produce .5g's of bud a.k.a popcorn buds take the same amount of energy from the plant to produce flowers, but because it's not a main part of the plant it wont produce larger buds, thus cutting these off allows for the energy to go into the buds you want to get big and juicy.
hope this helps

Exactly right and although some differ on where you take your clones (middle, bottom, top )the only difference is it might take a little longer than the ones closer to the light to root but you still have the advantage of what was discussed above in regards to giving more energy to the buds (the best one's) at the top of the plant.
