Cloning dome

Ok I bought a clone dome and did some cuttings on the 4th and it is now the 12th and not seeing any roots??? I used root riot plugs and rootech clone gel. I have cloned in just a rubbermaid tub and I had roots within about 5 days in that. I figured I would get the dome and it would be better? If you use a dome let me know how long yours are taking to root and are u putting water in bottom of tray? I have alittle water in bottom of tray and I am misting them a couple times a day. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
Scott

It all depends on the strain and environmental factors on how fast a clone will root........some of my strains root in 5-7 days some in 7-10 some take even longer...if you are usng a bubble cloner and it sounds like you are....there is no need for a dome...the unrooted clones get all the moisture needed from below.....I tried a dome before and I actually got stem rot on a lot of my clones....I stopped using the dome and no more stem rot......

Thanks for the reply. I am just using a humidity dome so the dome needs to be on to keep moisture in correct? I just thought it would work better than my last homemade job. I think it is time to buy a cloner machine but man over $300 I think there alittle over priced but I hear they work very well? Anyone know a good spot to buy a cloner I want a 60 site or more but not wanting to spend $300 they have to be out there

it depends on the type of system you use can you be more specific.. some clones take differently depending on the type of system y0u use and also the strain...

i personally had problems with root riot shit before but thtas just me..get clonex and give them what they need... or just put them in a glass of water with clear wrap over the wrap

Oh i had misread your first post....I see that you cloned in the past in a rubbermaid....the dome is vital when cloning like you are right now.....mist often... at first near 100 % humidity is important.......keep the plugs wet but not soggy...ohh and if is cold a heat mat would help a lot..as the days go on you can remove the dome more and more frequent....why did you give up on the rubbermaid tote???.....thats what I use and it is by far the easiest way to clone for me.......and I have tried pretty much every way...
