Cloning my mom to be a mom

I want to clone my current mother plant im growing in a dwc so i can grow out a new set of mothers in soil for the summer months to avoid heat ossues in the reservoir. Is this a good idea to start a mother plant from a clone or should i be growing my moms from seed?

Almost everyone does it. You tend to use seeds to try and find a phenotype of a strain that gives you the characteristics you want. Once you find that plant you want you take a few clones to create mothers and keep that phenotype going as long as you can. Even hand out a few clones to some friends who may want to keep it as mothers that way if something happens to yours you can get the phenotype back

if I knew I was going to be broke for a while . I would keep cloning over from a mother after a while then use a clone for a new mom just to get smoke but wouldn't think it stay super potent in my opinion
