cloning question

hi after reading another thread on here about keeping a mother plant it raised a question, origanaly i was going to have a mother plant for cuttings, but a read that just before flowering people take cuttings then flip the light cycle,
my question is do people have 2 grow rooms then, one to veg and one to flower? as the light cycles would be different.
Also is there a way without growing from seeds every time but not keeping a mother plant, other than re vegging?

That's easy. I take cuttings from my girls and then throw them into flower a couple of days later. When these cuttings get roots and ready for flower , I take more cuttings. I do this in a four week rotation so that I always have two to three plants growing at a time. I harvest two to three girls every four weeks. If you take two cuttings each from three girls, that will give you six clones. Keep the strongest three and sell/trash the rest. I have never bought any seeds and not purchased any clones in three years.

Hiya candleguy, I've just taken 23 Cuttings/Clones from my Bomb Cherry Bomb, WWxSkunk#1, Delicious Cotton Candy, 00 Choco Skunk...only 18 Rooted but I'm still buzzing!!! - Yep I'm Waffling..anyways I did this 2wks before Flipping mothers into Flower...Though with the Clones I will take more Cuttings/Clones a bit earlier next time...really wanna keep these Strains going..

God I'm SOOoo stoned!! Forgot to say I have a Little Cab 40"x40"x16" or sumat like that..keep em going with 3 x 30w(True) CFL..untill Flower chamber is freed up...

dadio161 does that mean that you have 2 different grow areas though? im after a way of doing it with only one grow area

You have to have two different areas for veg and flower, because of the different light cycles

No way around needing two grow areas. My clone area runs lights 24 hours a day. Flower area runs lights 12/12 . Clones area uses 4 tube florescent lights and flower area uses a 600W HPS with a digital Phantom ballast. My electric bill has gone up about $25 a month.

Hiya Candleguy, I use 3 Grow Chambers in Total(got bit carried away) I think you can use just one but you would have to have a Shelf like arrangement with(AARRGGHHH!!!) just typed a load of bloody text and fingers kinda had a dance on the keyboard and deleted 97% of what I had wrote...

Hi candleguy, as I said I use 3 Grow Rooms(Chambers) but kinda happened out of necessity..Anyways Waffling

I have seen Peeps turn 1 Grow Room into 2 using a Shelf like arrangement with the Mothers that they Flowering shut away from the light for 12 hrs using Curtain or door/sliding panel etc-Def needs to be Light proof though. and the clones still get the light they need...hope this makes sense? still 2 Chambers/Rooms though contained in 1 say cupboard/Room.

OR like some peeps just have a small Chamber Top or Bottom of Cupboard or whatever Grow Space you using..say 12-16" with just 2-3 30w CFL to Veg Clones under then have the Larger Chamber for Flowering of Mothers - Paint Matt White/Mylar or Panda Film..some Great Little DIY Stealth builds about...

thanks alot so there is no way around it with only one grow area many thanks for all the help +rep for you all

i had a little idea about cloning and choping and re cloning but seemed well to much hassle so think i will build something up many thanks

No Worries man, I'm sure you can look at your Grow Space and figure something out...keep us updated how it goes m8. Clones are worth the hassle...keeps the strain going(If you want to) and gives your more than 1 shot of getting it right..y'know Dialled in Grow Room and so on...I Let my Mothers get too tall because of one thing or another, but when I come to Flowering the Clones everything will be sorted...and I will have taken Clones from the Clones....

IF you don't wanrt to have 2 grow areas, look up autoflowers...... specifically think different/afghan kush ryder.and "CS spray for fem seeds"
