I use RapidRooters...Dip n' grow and a sharp scalpel.

I hone out the hole w/the scalpel so the cut goes almost to the bottom of the plug on insertion.

Take a 4-5" cut with 3 sets of leaves. cut off the bottom leaves leaving 1/4" stem. Scarify the stem. Dip in the D n' G...stick in the RR. Place plug in tray...cover w/ altitude/clear dome. Place in low light conditions (I use a 600 watt MH about 5 ft away) and 75 degree heat in the room. Higher temps cause problems for me.

I leave the set up ALONE for a few days..easy. I check it after 3 days or so for moisture in the plugs...giving them a bit via a 60cc syringe if needed but never overwatering em. I also avoid watering down the stem...and I NEVER mist the cuts/// I only mist the inside of the dome **IF** there is no moisture on it. If that happens..chances are you're plugs are too dry.... and your cuts may be dead)

In a week i generally have roots. At this point I give them a light dose of N and some mycorrihazea/beneficial microbes to promote root growth.

This pic was 7 days after cut. 3 days later thewre was 3X this root mass and she was transplanted into soil. (now doing DWC..you can do the same thing and go into hydroton..etc)

good luck

I can tell your looking for a simple answer. This is how I do it and my success rate is 100% so far.

I used a sterilized razor blade to cut the bottom branches from my best 3 girls. I Cut them at a 45 degree angle near the base, then slit about a half inch down each for better rooting.

I dipped them into rooting hormone and stuck them in 1" rock wool cubes that I cut in half, again for better rooting.

I used this dome on top of a heat mat, and had my Flueros on 24 hours a day. I kept them moist, but not soaked. I also kept it slightly flooded for more humidity. After a week or so, they all rooted and here they are now.

Hope this helps some.

Why do you cut the rock wool in half? how does that provide for better rooting? do you only use half or still the whole thing?

With only half, the heat from my heatpad influences the roots better than leaving them whole. It works better for faster rooting.
Once they go throught that, you can see in my second pic that I put the other half in there, and put them in baskets.
