Closet grow help

hey everyone, this is my first grow inside. I have a space about 3'x3'. Im starting off with 3 clones from a buddy and a super skunk seed i pulled from a quap i got a while back. im planning to run 2 or 3 two foot florescents for the begging stages untill i get some more cash to get a HPS, what wattage do you recommend? the ventilation defiantly isn't great so tips on cooling are highly welcomed aswell are tips to keep the smell down besides a carbon filter. I appreciate all your input and will put up pictures along the way.

well the space im trying to confine the plants too is about 3'x3', but the closet its self is more like 5'x6'. should i still just stick with cfls even for flowering?

Try to get as much flouro light as possible (I'd scrap the tubes in favor of a grid of 25 or 45w cfls), but I would definitely recommed having atleast 400w HPS for flowering.. maybe if you have a beast CFL setup you can get away with 250w, but 400w covers 3'x3' well.

As for nutrients, I dont get too worked up, just nitrogen heavy for veg, phosphorous heavy for flowering (w/ regards to n-p-k ratio- look around nutrients forum if this doesnt make sense).

Also since you're working in a subspace of that closet, I recommend scrapping together a mylar "tent" around your grow, just to help contain light.

No problem- I notice you mentioned temperature problems.. are you doing anything for ventilation right now? Pictures of your setup will help me understand your situation.

Regardless, make sure you have a vented reflector for any HID bulb you put in there. If you dont want to splurge on a spiffy looking duct blower, you can get bathroom fans at Home Depot and 4"-6" or 8" adapters to use that to cool it. Also, a oscillating fan can work miracles if ventilation is possible for temperatures, as well as do great things for plants, so make sure you have some circulation.
