Well i was going to buy one for sure..so i think it's the same for me.They run in different Hz as hyroot pointed out before :)
My situation is different, I'm already running 2 600 watt set-ups and was hoping to be able to use CMH bulbs with existing equipment...which cannot be done.
As far as I can see, CMH bulbs only go up to 400 watts.

But if I needed new lighting, I would probably go CMH.

The 400w retro white CMH bulbs have been recalled I thought (damn I loved those bulbs). They do have much better 315w options, BUT they're currently 240v. Advancedtech should be coming out with a 120v kit very soon...was supposed to be out this week, but making some minor tweaks.

EDIT: The Genesis HPS looks very appealing. Very affordable, high PAR, runs on digi, and supposed MUCH better life than a Horti.

http://advancedtechlighting.com/cdmmw.htm Lucky ass with your 240v...kiss-ass Now what ballast do you have? The 942 E37 bulb is good for veg and beginning of bloom. Also fits into your standard mogul. They put a '9' in front of the spectrum...so the 315w 942 is 4200k (blue dom), and the 930 3000k (red dom) requires a PGX18 socket. The names of 315w CMH bulbs are very misleading. Stick to the Phillips/Mastercolour/Elite/Agro...NOT the Cycloptic Green Power (same bulb for around $50 more).

I've checked the shipping costs and it's killing me.154$ to get here.I'll probably have to order just the bulb, which is fine if i find a ballast that will work here.I was looking a bulb all the way through flower.Right now,i'm using 2 lumatek digital dimmable ballasts on 400 watt( 1 of them is set on 250watts for the veg room, and the other on ''super lumens''-400watts).Man they always come up with catchy names like ''super lumens'' :D.Both of the bulbs are dual spectrum but i can't find any diagrams to see what i'm actually getting..

You're ballast won't work. There's a lot of them out there, but I would just stick with the Philips Advanced combo on the link I posted. As far as bulbs go, you want a 930 for bloom. This sorta simplifies it more http://www.ecat.lighting.philips.com/l/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/ceramic-metal-halide/mastercolour-cdm-t-elite-mw/21299/cat/ Good luck on shipping.

Another option, since you have 240v, are the Gavita Pros. I love the Philips DE1000w bulbs, and you can even replace the reflector. The bulbs run cool, open reflector, PAR, intensity, bulb life, you name it! They also come in 600s I believe. The Gavita refectors are better than the ePapillons.

What's you're grow space?

You're such a helpful lad mate.I really appreciate many of the people i meet here.I have a Gavita reflector which i LOVE.Triple star is the bomb.I didn't even know it was that good.I can get a Gavita ballast and it will probably be dimmable.Got any opinion regarding Lumatek products ?

I like these reviews http://www.youtube.com/user/GrowersHouseHydro The Gavita Pro reflector actually came in second place. They review ballasts, fans, etc.
And they just got a new subscriber :D .I'll definitely spent some time learning there.

[h=3]Gavita DigiStar Dimable 400W that's the one i can buy right now. They have some chinese shiet at 250watts.Should i go for it ?That's probably the best and most expensive ( a little less expensive than Lumatek's).I'm thinking to buy this one and see how it works.Run it on 250 since it's dimmable, and get myself a decent bulb ;) ? Does dimming to 250watts hurts a bulb or a ballast ? (if it's made to work up to 600w for example)?[/h]

It won't hurt either but your bulb won't run at the same spectrum as if it were running at full power. Never stick a bulb in any ballast that is smaller than the ballast wattage your running through it. Having a bulb of higher wattage works but Isn't ideal

The bulb will explode if you use a higher wattage ballast than bulb tho.

I'm currently flowering in a 1.5m*1.5m*2m Secret Jardin growtent (DR 150) .Lumatek digital dimmable ballast 400w x2(one of them is running on 250). Lumatek double spectrum 400w HPS bulb. For veg,i'm using a cheap little tent i bought 0,76m*0,76*1,2m which will be my future flowering room.Im flowering vertically babe bulb and i'm using Gavita triple star 600 for a hood in my veg room.Lumatek double spectrum 250HPS bulb for veg as well.Intake 125mm as well as 125mm outtake in the flowering room.100mm outtake in veg, passive intake. Both tents have fans for circulation and the flowering tent has a fan to cool the light when it gets hot :).Did i miss anything ? I do have some fertilizers..like DynaGro Foliage Pro,Bloom . Jack's Classic all purpose and bloom.I did a mix of a not so super soil with some bat guano, worm castings and dolomite lime for this batch.Followed the labels and a little less..Using biobizz all mix to flower.

So i can run a bulb with a dimmable ballast without harming the ballast or the bulb? ? I use a 400 dimmable digital ballast ,running on 250w for the bulb. The bulb is 250w as well.
