co2 enrichment viable for me?

Hey guys. So my next endeavour is co2 enrichment, or i would like it to be anyways, but as you all know it is initially very expensive.

My setup/conditions (the question)

I have 2x 1000 watts in a completely airtight caulked room. Though this room has a 6 inch intake line and a 6 inch exhaust FAN. The exhaust line starts at my carbon filter, runs through both lights and exits the room. The filter is at the top of the 8 foot ceiling.

So my question is, is this exhaust still going to suck the co2 out of the room, or will the co2 be heavy enough to stay down, therefore making co2 enrichment viable for me? I am not struggling with heat temps so i can turn my fan to 50-70% to help that situation aswell.

I was thinking of buying the Titan controls Saturn 6, which can control when my exhaust fan turns on and off in conjunction with the co2 valve enriching.

Let me know what you guys think, lots of back and fourth answers were the outcome of my many hours of research so this is why i created this thread. Thanks!!

I also want to add that the entire room is a scrog canopy that is about 3 feet high so that's as tall as the girls get (right where the co2 lines would be ran)

Not the best thing to do when you run co2.

You are wasting money like that.

I would suggest if you have the money to install watercooled AC

They sell it in europe and uk very cheap

Check this out

You can run co2 and ac during lights on and your normal exhust system during lights of

$5,000 isn't practical for me sadly. I guess i dont know any other way to scrub the air and get rid of the heat.

Any decent co2 system is not less than 2000/3000 as well.

Wait till you have the money or you would be wasting what you are spending on your co2 system!

It will be useless.

You aint gonna reach high concentration of co2 in the room to be effective while there is an exhust system..

All the best

Set target for your exchanger moving the air though your room 2x per minute. Connect intake and exaust up to same circuit or use a controller of sorts many to choose from. Plants love fresh air. The Co2 game is fraught with gadgets you don't know even exist yet. I live pretty far north so I have the luxury of cold air most of the year so in all fairness that could be differrent for a guy that lives further south.

What do you mean by connecting the intake and exhaust up to the same circuit? Little confused. Can you explain further?

I have a harvest master pro controller. It has a relay marked fans. I took a 3 way electrical splitter like you find at any hardware store and plug both fans into it. I have a riastat on the intake so that I can adjust incoming air velocity if really cold... This also causes the appropriate negative pressure in the room and takes some of the load off of the exhaust fan. Between the exhaust and intake running at the same time when the relay decides its to hot or the Rh is rising to fast it effectively changes the air out in the room within 30 seconds or so. More effective and less cumbersome than co2 sealed rooms. Mind you I do have a liquid cooled co2 generator that I can run if decide to go back to a sealed room configuration. The take away from this is that it costs more to run all the extra dudads associated with c02 than the simplicity of high volume air exchange.

I'm also running my bulbs vertical so it takes a ton of heat out of the equation. 1000's just throw down on the ol' heat. So you have to have a fan just to cool your hoods.... if you have the ability and are open to vertical growing then I will take you further down the rabbit hole. Giving my hood to charity was the bravest and best thing I ever did for my yields. Started using all of my bulb instead of half. Imagine doubling your yield at whatever grams per watt you are currently at!!!! Scary part is there is so much light in the room that digital thermostats and such malfunction so you have to cover them in some fashion to get accurate readings. Freaked me out so much I just went with a mercury thermostat.... Anyway... To back all the stuff I've just shared with you take a look at Heath Robinson's work on all the forums including this one. Unfortunatelly most of his pics were cocked up because of database error and he's retired now. I think he's the web master at bestseedbank.com most of his grows are archived there. http://www.bestseedbank.com/growing-cannabis-without-good-airflow/

So theoretically if i replaced my air cooled hoods with open bulb fixtures and getting rid of the glass, that will allow for better light penetration and utilize thr 1000s more effectively?

Yep, then I'll convince you to back down to 315's or 600's. I'm still using 600's but started with 1000's. Use what you have as I did and do little upgrades. You can get a mogul cord set with a hanger for 30 bucks I think. They come in 25 and 15 ft lengths and probably a high chance you could use the ones going to your hood with some eye bolts... This is the config for best light use.

In this case every plant gets 1800 watts from 3 points.
x....0...x
0....x...0
x...0....x

x = light
0= plant

or if your area is long and skinny then each gets 1200watts.

...x...0...x...0...x...

Its referred to as Horses for Courses, Checkerboard, or n+1...

Naturally you'll start training your plants differently as the flat-lander style of plants training wont fly.

yes you could do it. Not the absolute best way to run co2, but if you hooked your exhaust on a thermostat that would only clear the room when your target high heat point is hit then it would work. Put a damper on your exhaust system also. Also if you know your temps this could be done with a timer, Like clearing your room every lets say 1 time an hour to control heat. Worst case would be some sort of cheap cheap A/C to maintain 2k watts and be fully sealed.

Actually scratch most of what i said due to a little waste. Best way is a co2 controller with a cooling port. Exhaust gets hooked up to cooling port and is working with your co2. Then when your degrees reaches your high set point your room exhausts and co2 doesn't come on. And put damper on exhaust system still.

Fuck man, get a tank, run the fn thing three or four times a day for fifteen minutes and itll totally pay for itself with the 10 bucks they charge to fill it. Who the hell cares if some of it will be lifted up by the carbon filter and removed. The only way to get it perfect is if you install a mini split and stop venting. If ya dont have the extra two grand for the mini split just get a tank on a timer with some hoses comin off. Its 10 bucks a month....really, just go for it.

So i think i got a solid game plan with what all of you have recommended.

1. Convert to umbrella open hoods, ditch the air cooled ones to reduce heat so that i can reduce my fan speeds with my temp controller and increase light efficiency.
2. Run co2 over my SOG and run both exhaust and co2 reg with titan controls saturn 6, video seen here ~

This transformation should increase my yields buy quite a bit, i would find it hard to believe that it wouldn't!!!

But as usual, thanks everyone for the information, this is why i ONLY use RIU!! bongsmilie

I guess at this point the most important question before i order is, can i get by with doing umbrella/open hoods and is it TRUE that it will run cooler then having my exhaust inline with a filter and 2 air cooled hoods? Basically reducing that restriction, and having the exhaust only having a carbon filter in front of it. Im trying to wrap my brain around the concept but it hurts LOL.
