Co2 Generator

I was looking seal off the 5x10tent and run co2 in the tent. Does anyone have experience with these type of generators? It's a much safer option than the burner generators. The sustainability of just mixing citric acid, baking soda at home beats everything. I will probably pull the trigger on this and test it out anyway~ First time supplying CO2 to the garden so let me know your good/bad experiences!

Home made ones like soda can need shaking like hourly and dont release owt big.

Co2 bottle 60 quid
Regulaor 150 quid preset
Fill bottle each grow 20 quid.

Lights on 4 hrs release
Or ppm room readers

Most co2 absorbed in morning litle lessthru the day.
Shroom bags work well

Get tank and regulator or shroom bags for tents. I have sterile laboratory and make my own mushroom blocks; I put 20 bags in my 4x8 tent

If you are venting the tent for cooling then CO2 supplementation is pointless.

Shroom bags and stuff like that are garbage IMO. Placebo more than anything. If you are gonna supplement CO2, get a tank and regulator and a good controller that measures the PPM not just a repeat cycle timer.

Do not vent with co2, run closed loop. Or vent at night only.

Shroom bags are only garbage because they're made by scammers. No placebo behind science, mycelium produces co2 and consumes some o2 or it dies. The actual mushroom frutbody consumes alot of 02 as well as producing c02. If levels of c02 get above 650ppm mushroom growth is retarded and becomes abnormal. So shroom rooms must be vented and alot to keep the co2 levels below 650ppm or they will skyrocket into the 1000s ppm within a couple hours. I'm a professional mycologist, who ran a gourmet mushroom farm for 7 years and it does work, you have to make your own and have basic knowledge of mushroom cultivation to have it work best. Put 20 bags in a 4×8 tent and tell me that won't boost growth. Each block only costs $1 or 2 dollars to make (hence scammers.) I ran my hydroponic microgreens operation along side my shiitake grow and circulated the air between grow rooms; the growth rates of both plant and mushrooms improved

Yeah i'm running a co2 sugar/yeast generator using a 19litre water cooler bottle and getting 1000-1500ppm with a weekly change of the bottle in a 4x4 tent, got a used Superpro co2 controller running the on/off for a pond pump airstone in the bottle to keep levels in check and babysit the gas side for me. Took all year to get it down without too much labour each week. £1.80 to run each week.

Hey sorry for delay in response was away on a cannabis business trip, then the holidays.

I will make another thread soon and post it there for you; I have all the high grade equipment (autoclaves, flow hoods, lab glass, etc.) for my laboratory and how you grow depends upon what you have access to. I can do low tech, mid tech and high tech options obviously with increasing productivity as you add more gear and skill. Surprised there is no fungi section on this website for working with mycos, gourmets, and actives. Its a logical next step for horticulturalists. If people or moderators are interested I could help get it going; Ill start with a thread, super busy though bear with me

please tag me in your low scale thread I only need to produce enough for winter grows when my intake becomes limited and I want to run a cheap way to build some co2. anything organic would be great, even a simple sugar /yeast recipe but alot of members say these methods are pointless and I should just get a co2 tank. I just need a small bump

Sure so it’s basically a 5 gallon bucket with a pump and air stone and aquarium heater you can find the build on YouTube. Then inside I run a birdwatchers mash with 2 gallons of water 4lbs sugar 30 grams of yeast and 6oz of tomato sauce. It will produce something like 600ppm within 6 hours and steady rise to about 1100-1200ppm on day 2 and steady decline to about 550 ppm at day 5-6 which is when I swap them out.

However I have been experimenting with baking soda and citric acid and believe it will be economically viable and once I setup an ardunio controller should be able then to control it just as well as a tank with similar to or slightly cheaper daily cost and significantly cheaper entry price.

best investement i ever made
the pilot keep my veg area at 700ppm all the time
the 13kg tank last 3month

be sure to get quality propane, well know brands no cheap

this is the reliable way to implement co2

forget bottled co2 and other gadgets

Definitely if you have a room burners are the way to go but tents create some issues which make them harder to use

So I think 1 of 2 things either they never done it and get hung up mentally of thinking you need a sealed room and your “pressurizing” it with CO2 which is false or also if you under pitch the mash it won’t light off properly and thus not produce the desired amount of CO2.

For my 4x4 tent I I bought a c02 controller (used) and hooked it up to my sugar and yeast setup i'd been tweeking for a while. Using an air stone with a tiny pump that gets activated when my co2 dips below my set ppm. The the controller at 150 bucks was the most expensive bit. I use 19 litre containers as the amount of water that turns to alcahol over a a week is manageable (weekly changeovers). In an environment of 24c i can put the ppm up to 1500 or keep down at 800 or whatever without much fuss. I use two 1kg bags of sugar and 8 little yeast sachets (depending on what levels your looking for). It costs me £1.90 a week (UK pounds) to run and about £170 to put it together.
