I was wondering, could you use a CO2 fire extingisher as a source of CO2. Maybe spray them once a day during the light cycle?

yes co2 from a extingisher would work but once a day wont do much

extingishers are filled with powder.... so dont do it get a paintball tank and a remote attached to it you could get it at dicks or at PBgear.com

I'd only use the extinguisher if my plants were on fire.
