Co2 in a can!!!

i have a 1 gallon resv.
Ive heard that adding carbonated water to the tank can sometimes lower your ph.

To lower the PH 1 point aprox. how many ML of bubbly water would i need to add. I feel like im asking a question to my students in a sience class........tho its half ass backwards and im the student here!

You should use .5 liters for every 2 liters of water.

ive also noticed that the seltzer only seems to drop the ph for a short period of time. then it seems like the ph raises higher than it was originally!.

for example: ill have a ph of 6.3 ill add about 50ml of seltzer to the 1gallon tank.

20mins later i have a ph of about 5.3 the next hour later ill be around perfect at 5.8

i check the next morning back up in the high 6's.

just curious - what would be the purpose of using seltzer instead of pH up/down to adjust pH?

there will be a time in every growers life when there supplies may run dry and they might have a ph emergency such as i did. lol
