I'm addicted to this growing thing... check out my new cab!
@Concord Dawn inspired me with the 4 year old uhaul box grow cab so I went that route times 2!
Gorilla taped together, each box measures 24" x 20" x 48" tall. 3.33 sq ft of space is being covered by 2.1a of CXB3070 3000k (left) and Vero29 3500k (right). With a low ppfd of ~457 each, I plan to lst and train the canopy as even as possible. I used a smartphone lux meter and found the sweet spot canopy height where the cob can hit the whole thang. The two are mounted on aa11+ coolers.
Exhaust is being handled by a single Delta 12v ~3.3a 120mm fan on an nzxt speed controller. The thing is a beast!
Intake DIY louvers on the left wall and middle wall. With the fan on the right wall, air flows nicely throughout the whole cab. I also have a 4" duct running directly from the left wall to the right cab. This allows cool air to come in, without being heated up be the left cab lights. There is a 120mm 70cfm pc fan at the end of the duct with cardboard to deflect the air downward instead of battering the plants. There is also a small 80mm 30cfm fan on the bottom left wall louver to help bring cool air into the left cab. Temps and airflow were my biggest challenges during the build. I ended up having to move the entire cab from where I originally wanted it in the room so that the intakes can be hit by a fan positioned right in front of my small window a/c.
I just turned back the lights last night for the CSSH on the left. Organic soil I mixed up, 3 gal smartie. I plan to have my party cup entry in there as well, so on top of the cupdates that will be posted on the comp thread, I will document her path to victory here as well!
The right cab is going to be my Auto chamber. I just planted a mystery Mephisto seed, I have very high hopes for a quick little beauty!
I planted my first seed ever on 9/5/15... it's been a great journey so far! From one small 3x3x3 cfl cab to 5 DIY LED cabs in less than 6 months. So grateful for an easy going wife that lets me fill every sq ft of our tiny apartment with mini gardens lolol
I plan to keep this journey updated in detail often so I can look back and compare this lighting setup to the somewhat distant future 4x 3070s @ 700ma each.
