Howdy RIU… 1st run here… noob. At the end of week 5 from seed.

-2 Autos / Blackberry
-DTW 3 gallon buckets / fabric pots
-Coco/Perlite
-Remo nutes
-RO water
-3 MH TS1000 led lights (450w combined) @ 75% power 18/6 schedule
-Daytime temps: 78°F @ approximately 40% RH
-Nighttime temps: 75°F @ approximately 35-40% RH.
-Feed 2-3x daily… 10-20% runoff at end of day

Brown spots have been popping up on the fan leaves and seems to be making its way up the plant. Inspected plants.. no bugs from what I can tell. The roots appear to be healthy.

Here’s a shot of both of them side by side. Same auto strain. The one on the right has continued to stretch and has always had this droopy look to it.

I appreciate any feedback. Found a lot of useful info on this site. Some great journals on here. Thank you for contributing information. Helps out tremendously folks. If I missed any info needed… do chime in. Thanks again :leaf: Beep Beep

The one on the right stretched another inch since yesterday. Continuing to monitor the brown spots… I’ll provide updates along the way.

What pH are you using to feed?
Considering you're using r/o water.........are you using a calmag supplement?
I don't know anything about Remo nutes.........does it contain enough calcium?

There is no calcium in RO water, but tap water has calcium. If I were you I would either add calcium to your RO water, or use tap water

Thanks for the reply Mick.

PH started at 5.9. I’ve slowly raised it to 6.2. The remo kit I’m using has the MagNifiCal that I use per the feed chart for autos.

One plant appears to be a few steps ahead of the other. Working to wrap my head around it and have a better understanding… I’m certain it’s probably operator error. Thanks again for the reply Mick.

Not near enough calcium for coco and r/o.
I use tap water and my nutes have 5% calcium.
How much calcium does that Magnifical have?

Thanks for the reply bk78. I don’t see any discoloration however there doesn’t seem to be much to them beyond the fabric pots.

Here’s the roots for the one on the left:

Thanks again bk78.

Those buckets should be filled with roots with the size of those plants, can you pop the bags out and have a look at what’s going on there?

There is calcium from two of the nutrients used in the kit provided. Micro … at 3% calcium and the MagNifiCal at 2%. I’ve been working on dialing in the environment. Chasing VPD… maybe I shouldn’t be. Also making adjustments as far as the humidity.

Not near enough calcium for coco and r/o.

Mixed another batch of nutrients. Recalibrated both of my ph meters. Looks like I was off by 3 pts. Just fed em and tucked them in for the night.
