Hey guys,
So I'm planning on making some cooking oil tonight for the first time and I have some questions that I have tried to find answers to in other posts but have not succeeded. A lot of people have said different things and I was wondering if someone experienced could clear things up! I have an ounce of trimmings and a shit ton of coconut oil. I plan on double boiling it as I do not have a slow cooker.
1. What temperature should I cook it on and for how long?
2. How much coconut oil should I add to the trim? (I would like the oil to be as potent as possible)
3. Should I decarb? (the trim is completely dry)
4. Should I grind up the trim into smaller pieces? Does the size of the trim matter?
5. Then after the oil is done what would be a good amount to add to brownie mix. I've heard people say just replace the oil that the original recipe calls for, but my fear is what if what it calls for is too little to give whoever eats them a nice high. Does anyone have a good constant measurement of oil to add to a box of brownies?
Thanks so much in advance!
