Colas - Define Please...

Can someone please post a definition and description of a Cola. I've been reading faq's and how to posts, and the term is used quite frequently. I have a good idea of what a Cola is now, but instead of making my own interpretation will someone just flat out explain the "who, what, when and where" of a Cola so that's it clear. Also please include the difference in a plant "au naturale" and one that has been; topped, supercropped, low stress trained, etc.

Thanks!

The cola is the flowering part of the plant. All plants have many colas. Usually the plant has one main cola. However, with topping, fiming, LST, you can create multiple colas.

Is the main cola noticeably larger? And by topping the plant you lose that larger main cola, but hopefully encouraging more colas to compensate the loss?

The main cola should be larger. By topping the plant you encourage several colas to grow as the primary. Depending on the strain this might yield more, the same or less bud than by growing it out natural.

Gettin' the idea, thanks.

I'm looking to grow with lower profile. I don't think having a 8' tall plant is really helping keep things on the "Down Low". Wanting to keep it shorter and looking for the best way to do it without a lot of trips/interaction with the crop.
