College

So i graduate next semester and was wondering who here on riu has put their degree to good work?
ill have my Ba in chemistry-preprofessional health with a bio minor. only have to pass 3 more classes so hopefully it will be a breeeze. hard classes but alot of time to do nothing. Calc3, biochem, and core psy. as much as i want it to end, im in that grey area of "now i have to get a real job/career started". most people think pot heads are dumb and lazy, well im speaking for all those who toke be4 class and still have a 3.8 gpa. not bragging, im just saying with a little motivation and a clear mind it can be done. i cant study high or take tests, but i can take notes and absorb verbal info really well while stoned. and then theres that dredded question of grad school??dont get me started.
anyone else close to graduating? whats ur major?

Me, im just going to have a mideocr life and grow my marijuana.
That way if something happens worldwide I wouldnt have wasted my life in school and trying to get a degree, but i know how to establish a plant everyone wants.. and with that ill buy my water,food,shelter,and everything else.

yea it is quite expensive, i applied for mad scholarships and grants to help, but still costs a pretty penny....now that i think of it im guna lose those bc im not full time, loooks like loan time.

i think a BS degree is much more useful than a BA. i don't use my degree, i work in a completely unrelated field but anything sscientific there is hope of finding related work.

yea a bs is nice but im guna go for my masters so i should be alright. most places ive been looking into for jobs only seem to want a ba, but that bs sure does look nice. but like u said not too many people take a science route so jobs are usually available, i think im one of four chem majors at my school. eveyone seems to do bio, teaching, "communications" and business these days. few psy maj but thats a real limited field imo.

masters is good if you have a specific career you're interested in. it's a waste if you go for something general like an MBA. from your undergrad, i can see you won't do something stupid like that.

yea i have few fields that ive been throwing back and fourth, might even take pcat exams and see if i can hack it in pharmacy school. but i love working lab so idk. my prf keep teling me to go to asu and study volcanos and earthquakes, said hes got a nice in so i might take that route as the chemisty of volcanos is a pretty interesting field.

ty for the gpa compliment, a little hard work and dedication and anyone can do it; however, sometimes college just isnt for some people. theres plenty of options, trade schools have been booming w/ popularity lately. and im sure u herd it before but its true, do something you love, not for the love of money. yeah money is great but if going to work is miserable everyday then it just isnt worth it.
