colossal newb questions, about to start first indoor grow

Guys I’m about to start my very first indoor grow, and have a couple of newb questions I was hoping someone can help me with. (please note, I’m a colossal newb, the following questions I’m sure might seem borderline stupid to some of you)


First and foremost, I hope im posting this in the right section... I will be working with 3 strains:


TGA Genetics Locomotion, Jacked Up, and Killer Grape.


I will be (hopefully, this might change depending on what I might or might not be suggested by some of you) using a Gorilla Grow Tent that’s 2’x2.5’x5’7 the (GGT LITE LINE, the smallest one they have)


Here’s my first question:



Is the space of my tent big enough to hold two strains (flowering)? Or will only one strain (flowering) be able to fit in the tent?

Also, will I be able to grow a Sativa hybrid like Jacked Up in the space dimensions mentioned above? I’ve heard Saliva’s grow a lot more once they’re in the flowering stage and am not sure if my tent would be small.


I’ll be using soil with LED lights… which leads me to my next question..


Can I use the same type of LED lights for Veg and Flowering?


And finally, this final question isn’t that big of a deal, but I was wondering how smell proof are grow tents? Do Carbon filters remove virtually all nug smell or just like.. help…

Tent is going to be quite tight for more than 1 plant, LED is best when both red and blue light are incorporated...or when blue is used for veg and red for flower (that may be reversed I am not sure having never used LED...check the LED grow section). If you have a reason to have anxiety over smell...a carbon filter/fan combo works well. I have a small tent and live in an apartment. I use a 440 cfm fan and filter combo...no smell at all but my gurlz stink!

Cool man thanks, I thought as much. Ill deff check out the LED section, as well as a whole lot of other sections here. Hope you dont mind if I ask, would I be able to grow a Sativa strain in those dimensions? or should I stick with Indos, or just all together go with a different sized tent? (My wife has very mixed feelings about this, and unfortunatelly have to keep my grow space small, very small) Thanks again, I know all my questions are overtly newbish

I think growing one strain at a time would be easier for you. Having different strains to smoke is nice, but having different growth rates, flowering times, or nutrient requirements on a first grow could cause you some problems. If you asked most people 90% would tell you they screwed something up their first couple grows and the other 10% are full of shit.

I've never used led's so i have no idea.
A filter is very important. If you live in a place where it's not legal or not welcome it may be the most important piece of equipment you buy.

Well, my tent is 36"W X 20"D X 62"H...I grow 2 plants at a time with 400W HID, cool tube, and a 220CFM booster fan blowing over the bulb. If you want to see my set up click the link in my sig. BTW my tent cost less than $60.00 with shipping...that should make your misses a bit happier than the $ you will drop on a gorilla tent.

To answer your question though...you can go either way as far as Indica or Sativa...with proper training techniques you can keep your plant the size and shape you want it to be.
