Coming out of retirement... need a few pointers please! :)

Hello everyone, I had a few previous posts asking which routes I should go and how I should do it. I ordered my stuff and im ready to start. :D Its been a few years since i've grown and I have a few questions.

First, im working with:

12.5' long X 7.5' wide by 8' high room

6 X 600 watt HPS hydrofarm lights

Got a 8" activeair inline pushing 2700 CFM and ducting cooling all the lights and exhausting the hot air outside and a Hepa filter filtering the incoming air.

Now...

Im about to start a few ladies, probably clones and im wondering about ferts...
I remember something about using 20-0-0 for vegging and when I start flowering I plan on using my DutchMaster ferts I ordered. Is 20-0-0 right?

Also, is my 3600 watts adequate for growing some nice thumpers in my size room?

I want to add here that I put panda paper on all the walls to up the reflectivity and increase yield effectively.

Any tips? Suggestions? Questions?

Plz post, thanks.

Soil or Hydro?

I wouldn't expect the plants to live very long in Hydro with 20-0-0. Absolutely no P or K for the entire Veg??? Doesn't make any sense.

In soil you could do this, depending on your soil mix...there should be enough P and K to get the plant through Veg...

Either way I would not recommend it. Just buy a simple Veg formula (like fox farms grow big and big bloom) and that by itself will do fine for Veg. (assuming you are using tap water, if using R/O water or distilled water add cal-mag.

Hope that helps.

That does help a bit. I will be using fox farms organic soil to grow in. Are you saying I should maybe do a 20-10-10 for veg?? Also what is your opinion on my wattage per sq foot//or plant? I am going to be doing about 6 I think, though I believe I have room for 12.

Your lights sound adequate to me. 1000 watt lights would be ideal but replacing all those lights would cost a lot of money.

Don't worry about the N-P-K ratios (at least for now). Just use the Fox Farms Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom. The Fox Farms soil in itself is already rich with nutrients so these 3 products should be good till the finish.

I recommend making a one-time investment in a solid Tri-Meter that will give you very accurate readings for ph/ppm/and temperature. A good one should cost around $200, and it will prevent 95% of the problems people run into. If not, use the fox farms nutrients at half strength from what the bottle says.

A good PH range is 6.2 to 6.5

Feed every other watering.

Follow these steps, don't overdo anything, and everything should work out fine.

good luck.
