Something on the legislative bodies mind is making all growing meet or exceed commercial zoning and licenses. How do you Montana patients and caregivers feel about this? If some of the things proposed to the legislature go into affect we are going to be responsible for permits, licenses etc.

I myself am ok with it. I paid to rezone my property and get the proper licenses to produce medical grade cannabis. As a person looking to do this as a job/career as long as I can I took the appropriate steps to fill all the guidelines to make local and state officials happy. I dont mean to step on the toes of the 10-30 plant small grows. But I feel its our job to legitimize what we are doing to prolong the time we have to do something we care about and love to do. If we all sit back and look at what we are doing you should have a little saint on your shoulders telling you to do what ever it takes to be 100% legal. The ones of us who are taking the risk to do this a full time job need to sit back and look at how we need to make this a legitimate business. I know that there are a lot of growers in ares where rezoning cant happen. Well tough. This isnt a thing being done thats been around for years and years. We are the pioneers of this industry and we need to treat it like that.

I am all for lic/permits etc. and paying taxes... its a slippy slope ... before you know it, new dept. created to regulate, and inspect etc. hand down fines, close cgivers down who dont comply, its headed that way. Things could be worse though... When do we find out the new changes, anyone know?

I think there should be both... Backyarders and Big Growers... big growers can be over regulated and and the small guy can still provide quallity medicine at a fair price. Let the patients decide where they get there medicine. It will be like everything else, a few rich people, and a bunch of poor stiffs... 5 patients per care giver, now if that passes the demand for cgivers will skyrocket, thats good for the small guy. But then they want to open dispencerys... good for the rich guy. I say let the patient decide, the more options the better.

I dont care whos growing..small big it doesnt matter. This is a business and must be treated that way. I by no means want to limit anybody's options. I could have 6 patients and I would still be getting permits, licenses, inspections etc. All of the ill wired over the plant count grows are going to spell certain trouble to all of us. When houses start burning down and taking the neighbors garage out. Think about what will happen to all the caregivers who are in the same boat as the guy whos house burnt down. Regulations are going to come regardless. The smart ones who do it right will still be growing while the guy who didnt do what he was suppose to will be growing nothing.

your saying you rezoned your property and got all permits and licenses you needed and you can now grow X number of plants for business purposes?

In so many words. I had to look at the future of this industry. Do I want to be taken seriously? Yes. Do I want to have a grow thats a closet grow or a little corner of my basement? No. If I have a surprise inspection for whatever reason I want all the paper work needed. So when they leave I am not just another grower out there. An impression will be set for the facility my partners and I created...A viable licenced grow. Up to code, up to all requirements.

i see, so there currently is no rezoning or permits yet ur just setting up? How is montana for growing conditions and what are the laws like over there? seems like a chill place to be

Well. I lived in a residential zone and to safeguard myself and my partners from any kind of trouble we just set up as a commercial/business facility. That allows us the added benefit of wholesale accounts tax write offs etc. Regular business benefits. One of the better parts of the rezoning is that if a neighbor has a problem with the grow there is little or nothing he or she can do.

The growing conditions in Montana are pretty nice! Seems to be the spider mite Capital of the World, I think that has to do with the small community of growers and dispensaries handing out infected clones. I recently had some outdoor from a friend and it was quite nice. Missoula I am told of all the cities in Montana is one of the best places to be. Nobody is breaking into dispensaries, robbing patients/caregivers and the local authorities are being very professional and handling all matters as they should be.

interesting. so i am assuming your a vendor yourself? and this is your main source of income? what type of business do you file as when incorporating ( LLC i assume ) and business lic.

The point of the program is to provide medical quality medicine not backyard income. i have over $60,000 wrapped up in my dispensay and literally $200 to my name. to say the will get the rich richer-suck it. I have starved and put every thing i have into my business for the last 2 years just so i can stay around when all the hooligans ef this up for us. you should have had the foresight to see this coming and build your business appropriately like fourrings and i did. We have made this our lives and have suffered because of it, but htis is what we want to do as a career, a profession. We are headed to legislation because too many of the little people were trying to get rich by throwing poor quality product around. with 10,000 people growing it you cannot ensure quality which is the purpose of all this in the beginning. I cannt wait for legislation. and no limiting caregivers to 5 patients will not raISE the numbers of caregivers-it will send more patients into the dispensaries SO PEOPLE LIKE FOURRINGS AND I CAN MAYBE START TO MAKE SOME OF OUUR INVESTMENT BACK AND MAYBE START EATING REGULAR MEALS AGAIN. Perhaps the reason noone likes his despencery is because its crap? Just an idea, but i produce quality meds out of my garage and let me tell you, it blows away most things u find at any despencry. Its all about the cure, most people just dont take the time to let the plant mature and then cure. *shrug* again, its all about the quick buck for most people, and they will all go out of bizness eventually. Once those of us who are true to our calling get a little bigger...and a little bigger...bit by bit the guys who were just blackmarket guys gone legit are gonna lose out to the dedicated hobbyist turned professional grower guys. Keep yer head up and keep turning down those crappy meds! Find a decent caregiver!!!!

people love our services-we have a waiting list and are considering making people apply for our services. the cure huh, sounds like youve dealt with the same dispensaries i did before i said screw it and started my own. i like you style scrogger all about the quality!

No room for trash talk. Keep that shit to yourself. Dont sit all high and mighty saying you dont have any interest in money. If you dont I would assume you have money in your bank account. Mine is $364 in the red. I buy what I need when I need it. I want to produce the best I can...and pay for the thousands upon thousands it takes to get the ball rolling. I agree with everything else you have to add to the thread though. Yes cure is pure! I would hate to spend all this time with my girls and cut them off short. That would be foolish! The people who are gonna fail are the ones who take short cuts, dont take the time to get all the electrical in order and dont take the time to follow codes. How is it going to look when they show up and you dont have a fire wall, you dont have proper wiring, you dont have inspections? We all may think of that its govt bullshit but if you want to sustain you gotta play by the rules. I would think that as long as this is around they will be inspecting our opps and making sure we dont torch the neighborhood running to many amps off to little service. I welcome any official to enter my facility. Search warrant or not. The best thing to hide is nothing.

If you are a caregiver and sell product you are a fool to not get your garage legitimate. Now that is on the assumption you havnt. If you have great work. As you know its a PIA to follow all these god damn rules.

yeah i do apologize for the outburst-just fed up with alot of what i see. we are much alike in ALL aspects fourrings, i just have a hard time biting my tongue sometimes. i think i have $28 in my bank account to tell you the truth-cost me $300 plus in overcharges not long ago like your going through-i dont use the account now lol. and do buy stuff as needed. it just that personally if i do a grey area business prectice i feel as though i am doing something wrong-cuz i am, so i dont do it. everyone in my position feels the same-what seperates us is professionalism. some of us choose to be completely legit and refuse grey areas, some have no problem with grey areas but know they are doing wrong but when there is no oversight or consequense they do it. This is a lack of professionalism the industry needs to cull out. thats all im saying.

I was referring to medicalscrogger on the shit talking. I agree 100% with you. The gray area people will be giving all of us the image. They are what will be in the media while all of us who took the time effort to get it all proper will go unnoticed which is fine by me! Imagine getting inspections when everybody is scrambling to get legit or run the risk of loosing there grow! Oversight and consequence will be with us shortly I imagine.

make sure your ADA compliant. this is something that alot of people are overlooking. Basically all doors must be at least 36", all hallways must be 48", and have grabbars in bathrooms. this is something that is in the proposal. entire thing smells like we are going to a dispensary system almost if not identical to CO. makes sense though these two states have hiostorically been almost like identical twins politically. some other interesting parts to it but too much to say here. I do talk shit from time to time-they call it an aspeger's meltdown lol
