"Commerical" drying

Ive bought some stuff that has been dampish but still smelled really really good.

But ive quickdried some stuff that smelled grassy after a week of curing.

How do the people that grow commericaly dry thier stuff so fast, but keep that nice smell thats not grassy?

A quick way of drying, yet not causing a dis-service to yer weed is dryin on screens. Yer Stems carry a lot of weight, there is no reason to dry the stems, so clip THEN dry

Someone could dry using screens but you can hang more buds in a smaller area than you can placing them on screens and in come cases space can be limited.

Another factor is you are dealing with a sticky resinous, or at least hopefully resinous, substance and placing said sticky resinous things on screens can result in some of the resin sticking to the screens. That is not preferable.

i dont know how just drying on screens is a form of quick drying. My box is basicly a rubermaid box, with 2 sets of screens in the middle. on the bottom, i have a computer fan for an exhaust. Ive poked some holes on the sides so there can be airflow going through.

In my particlar case, I left the lid off a little for greater airflow, and it dries faster. I dried for 3-4 days, cured for a week or 2 now. BUt I still got that grassy smell

i found if there is too much moisture left when you put the buds in jars youll get that grassy smell. when stems will snap is when i place into jars with this method i get no grassy smell besides its easy to add a little moisture back later if you want stickier buds.

depends what your growing, i'm gonna get shot down for this but i only grow ak47, i chop it, trim it, lay the buds on a screen and bang it back in my grow tent, lights and everything on. I check on it everyday, turning the buds as necessary and in three days i put it in airtight boxes and bobs your mothers brother......its ready. It smells out of this world, i've yet to smell anything stronger, no grassy smell, burns evenly, no harshness just sound. Ak47 is the only plant i can do this with, everything else i;ve grew has needed the full curing treatment. Another benefit of this is my carbon filters still doing the bizz when my shits drying ( the most risky time for unwanted smells)

light degrades thc i dont know how fast it happens but it does. if your happpy with your results though great.

I know it degrades it, believe me, before i was doing this, i would have stuck a stake through the heart of enyone doing a three day dry and cure but it works with this plant. I know the product isnt 100% but the loss, if any is not noticeable.

some strains smell good right away and stay that way its weird and others smell good then bad then good again go figure.

True, Ive had crops that have smelled like freshly cut grass for weeks then bang, beautiful!!! The variation of the plant, Its what we love!!

Usin screens is a form of quick drying ONLY if ya remove the stems first.

He didnt ask about a small area, he asked fer a method so I gave him 1. I have NEVER had n-e thing stick, cause I keep indirect air lightly flowing in the same room as the buds. I also keep the temperature slightly elevated to make up fer the air flow, it also helps adjust my humidity in that particular room.
Dealing w/resinous buds is 1 of my favorite parts of growing, so I love using screens! Of course there are other methods. This way is just quicker than hanging them to dry, and that's all I was tryin to say
