Well i figured this could be a really informative thread if everyone throws in their 2 cents... i thought i new just about everything before i started my grow but i was deffinately wrong.. here are some of the mistakes i have made
1. incesticide with suflur (during the day at that)
2. changing water- alternating between distilled and well water... bad idea
3. using humidity dome... i used it on 2 week old seedlings when we got 3 days of solid rain. Nearly killed em... fast changing envioroment (huge increase in heat and humidity is bad)
4. Overwatering... at first i was paranoid about it so i underwaterd and killed a couple; then started overwatering and never established a root system. The key is letting the soil dry out but not too much. I now have 1 week old plants with roots coming out the botton... before i had 3 week olds with no signs of roots at the bottom
and one question... i have 4 holes in the ground and about 20 seedlings. Now they are in jiffy cups with promix and i plan to transplant them to 1 gal containers with promix until they can be sexed. Then the best females will be transplanted into the ground. I dug huge holes in the ground (5 cubic feet (40 gal+) and filled them with perlite, vermiculite, composted cow manure, top soil, and spagnhum peat moss. I also added 1 cup blood meal, 1/2 cup bone meal, 5 lbs worm castings, and 1 cup of pennington fast acting water soluble lime. Will the transition into a differnt soil in early vegetative growth cause a problem?
