Confused about PPM EC AND PH

ppm = parts per million of total dissolved salts
EC = electrical conductivity of an aqueous solution

Two ways to measure the same thing, just different scales. It's a cheap meter so they don't put the decimal for EC after the first zero on the far left (ie, what ready 0170 EC is really 0.17).

Okay so what do these numbers mean brother
All ppm/ec meters measure solution ec and then convert that into a ppm reading based on either a 500ppm/ 1.0ec or a 700ppm/ 1.0ec scale.
I use the ec reading to avoid any confusion.
Also be aware of the units displayed. u-siemens is 1/1000 of a milli-siemen. 1mS/cm= 1.0 ec
If that meter is functioning, the solution has barely any nutes dissolved.
