Confused if they're ready.....

I got some skinny pineapples clones that were supposed to go 63 days into flower....that would be this Friday  But I've been checking the trichs with my scope, and they're almost ALL milky, I would say maybe 5% amber-- and that's just the top colas. I wanted to turn off the light for the last 48 hours before harvest, so it's now been 24 hours. I just went in to check again, and same situation with the trichs....should I turn the light back ON and flower a little longer? I don't want a super couch-lock high, but I am not watering and the leaves are totally yellow and drying out-- help?!?!?? Oh, BTW, they are growing in soil under 1000 HPS, 6 legal ladies ;-)

It depends on what you want in a head high or body stone or a combination of both. Once most trichomes have turned milky white/cloudy the THC level has maxed out and waiting longer will not increase the amount of THC.

Once the trichomes have turned mostly to fully amber the THC begins to oxidize and you lose THC and increase CBN. The effects of increased levels of CBN cause a messed up or confused feeling that many wrongly confuse with increased levels of THC but that is incorrect.

When you harvest, going by trichome color, will only somewhat alter the effects of the smoke, as in more of a head high or more of a body stone but the difference can be what makes you love something instead of just like something.

So only you can decide when to harvest and that decision is made strictly according to your own personal preference and NOT anyone else’s.

Anyone else? Will leaving the lights off for another 24 hours help them to amber up, even a little bit?? Or should I go back to flower for another week? I personally think these plants kind of look like crap and took a dive the last week in flower-- I only gave them straight water, and a water and mollasses treatment the week before--???

Hard to tell exactly from here but, going by how far along the vegetation looks, you'd be justified in harvesting now.

Looks very nice, btw.
Good job.

You can do another 24 hr of darkness, but I'd chop them down if you have mostly milkly trichs under the scope. Clip off one of the bud leaves and look at that outside of the grow room. I'd scope it out with a dark background and good light so you can see what color the trichs are, enough to make a judgement.

IMO, I'd think to chop after another 24 of darkness. The trich will sense the change of light period and may boost more with the trich color but i don't know how likely it is that they will become more amber in just a day's turnover.

Congrats.

I know you're as anxious as I am, but give them another week, and check the trichs again. Ripeness doesn't occur overnight, you have a week window in which to harvest at peak ripeness :peace:

I harvested yesterday, my plants looked just like yours 3 weeks ago. The yield will at least double if you hold off. I am glad I waited, Enjoy your good smoke.

Don't you think 9 weeks flowering is awhile tho? Some look more done than others, so I'm thinking about just chopping the main colas and most mature buds and letting the bottoms go longer....anyone have opinions on this?? Thanks everybody!! This site ROCKS!!

Harvesting just the tops would be fine also.
