Continuous problem every run

Hi all, I am on the verge of giving up and going back to just buying again. Every run my plants start yellowing at begining of flower, a few runs ago I started adding a little more nitrogen during the stretch but still always happens. I'm lost as to what to do. They are royal queen auto northern lights in plant magic soil using plant magic plus nutes. Feed is always PhD to 6.2/6.3... is there any other factors other then nitrogen deficiency that would cause this? It always starts about 1 week after pistols show.

I've just done a slurry test and it some how appears that this could be caused by a bite lock out. I always adjust feed to 6.2/6.3 and leave to bubble for a hour before watering, check pH again then feed. The slurry came back at 7.2ph.. any ideas why the rise in pH?

How much you feeding with the pm nutes ? I found the pm nutes to be stronger than when I used to use bio bizz and used less. I wouldn’t ph the water when your useing soil just can make things worst I think pm soil should be fine ph but it doesn’t have much food in and I haven’t used it for a few years.

Currently at 2ml per litre, I kind of need to pH my water, it comes out the tap at a staggering 8.2ph I know soil is a natural buffer but I wouldn't imagine it would buffer it from 8.2 to 6.2/6.5 range

Yeah that is high for the water ph mine comes in around 7.5 and I don’t ph. I think your useing to much grow ain’t helping either I only use 1mill of grow once a week and near the end half of that. But I do add enzymes and I’m using Biobizz reused soil.

If I was using too much grow would there not be abundance of nitrogen causing dark leaves, curling and tip burn?

I’ll mention this, only because I see your white crusty drip trays. Be careful with drip trays and using nutrient solutions. It’s taken me a long time to understand things like proper watering, watering to runoff, and letting waste drain away instead of letting the plant sit in the trays. When the plants sit in the trays instead of allowing runoff to carry away the extra nutrients, what isnt being used concentrates in the soil as the water evaporates. You can easily develop lockouts this way, even if you’re not really overfeeding. Put your plant on a screen or wire mesh, above the tray, to let water drain away when you water. Then discard this water. The crusty residue in your trays is likely a buildup of those salts, and a sign of this possible issue.

Would you reccomend a flush then? I do have some 2" pot risers I'll dig them out

Nice catch

Not if you’re getting locked out it’s not getting the food that’s why you’re getting the yellowing at the bottom rather then the top which maybe to do with ph in the water as the plant is eating it’s bottom leafs.

What would the recommended course of action be?

Ive used plant magic for years. Both nutes and soil.

The reason they are yellowing is because they’ve exhausted the nutrients in the soil during the stretching phase. PM is only 1.2 EC out the bag.

Stop pHing your water as well. No need and peroxide harmthe microherd. Which is what you rely on!

I give them about 3-4ml of grow once fully established. Feed, feed, water.

Mix The grow and bloom 50/50 2ml each for a great ratio. Only a little more K is needed towards the end of flower.

Are you in a soft water area by chance?

EDIT: I’ve just read you’re using the non organic range. I use the old timers

Thanks for reply, no I'm in hard water 360ish ppm from tap 8.2ph, I leave to sit out for 24hours before using.

That’s good. Means you have higher alkalinity than soft water like me at 8.5ph.

Drop the pH stuff and bump the feed up. What’s the recommended dosage?

Plant looks hungry!
Not sure as out at moment but I believe it's 2ml grow per litre, I've read alot of places that when growing autos I should use half recommended dose, I'll try uping dose and not going water, I top dressed with eco thrive charge yesterday. By feeling pots I'd say another 2 days (ish) before next water

Well that depends on what soil they are growing in. A 1.8 EC soil yea leave it longer and introduce less feed.

A 1.2 EC soil is going to need more food and faster.

It’s about reading the plants then anticipating when they need more food with your setup.

General rule of thumb. Yellow at the bottom more food. Yellow at the top less food
