Controlling Odor

So I moved in with my parents recently because they are getting old and need someone to take care of them. They live in a flat in a crowded city, and I'm thinking of growing in their basement. I haven't grown before so excuse me if I ask any stupid questions. I would have sole access to the basement, but smell is an issue because there are neighbors near by. I read a lot about odor control and using carbon filters, but I don't know how affective they'd be. I am also open to the option of buying a gorilla grow tent (If they're worth it) and I read it's supposed to contain the odor, which is what I need. The issue I foresee is when I open the grow tent to work on the plants, which is going to be close to daily at least during certain stages if I'm growing hydroponically. For containing odor, is a grow tent best in my situation, or is there a better option for me? The more information the better as I am new to this. Thanks!

If you going for the smallish grow around 4-6-8 plants use a Tent for sure. As long as you got negative pressure in there and a half decent carbon filter no smell will escape.

Just to give you an example, of a setup. 3x3x6 tent with 250w hid. 4"in fan rated at 200cfm's sucking air through a 4" mountain air carbon filter. 3 plants no smell. Good Luck!

Just a sidenote: Skunk strains generally are no good for keeping odor down.
