Do i need to put ducting on one end to pump fresh air through and one on other end to vent out or can you just use it to suck the hot air out.thank you

You want ducting going in and going out. Whether you push air or pull it. Both ends outside the tent.

I always ran them ...

Filter > fan> duct>cooltube >duct >chimney

Filter>cooltube>fan>duct out the house/room

The main thing is the heat from the bulb bypasses the tent and is ejected out the room
