cooltube

Hey guys,

I just installed my cooltube with my 600W HPS bulb and it doesnt seem to be dropping the Temp all the much. It's keeping my tent at around 86 degrees.

It is a 6inch cootube with a 6 inch inline fan connected to it. It is pulling air from one end of the tent and pushing it out the other.

I also have my air conditioner running at full blast and I have a 4inch inline fan venting out as well.

If it isnt going to cool it that much I might just get rid of it. Would save electricity on the incline fan and I would be getting more lumens as well since it isnt passing through the glass.

My humidity is 27% also. Should I add a humidifier?

hi, when i ran 3 cooltubes inline i had trouble cooling with the fan set up pulling air through, when i changed it to a push system it worked loads better.
also make sure if poss you are venting outside the room.
cos if ambient is 86 you will be sucking that in.
and 27% rh is not that bad tbh especialy if your in veg.
i enede up getting rid of the tubes as i found the light spread poor even with a diy reflector, and got 2x magnum xxxl hoods.
the light spread is way better now.

i have a 4'x4' tent kit.... 600w light and a 5" filter and speed controlled fan.... 4" intake ... i was planing to wrap my tent totally with 2 layers of rigid insulation (as its due to go in my loft)...am i going to struggle to keep temps down without a aircooled hood/cooltube?

i think with a 5" fan yes,
loft/attics hold heat bad, and depending where your from you may be forced to use a/c unit.

if you are in a loft or attic, using a 600W even with a cooltube you are going to run into trouble with heat unless you have a nice ac keeping the temps outside the tent in the upper 60's low 70's. I absolutely hated attic/loft growing with HPS' lol. Im sure you will find a solution though if you run into problems

Higher humidity=higher temps unless you have something to control the temperature. Maybe someway to pull some of the direct colder airflow from the ac into the tent somehow? I have to imagine what your setup looks like and that would be my only guess, unless you go out and get a portable ac. Then your problem will be history

One way I have found to raise the humidity slowly but surely is a 5 gallon bucket of steamy hot water set in a corner somwhere with a fan blowing in front of it. I also(because Im somewhat ghetto lol) ran some clothes lines back and forth in my garden room and dried my towels in there which raised the humidity nicely . It also lowered the temperature because I only use ice cold water to wash my clothes

i am in flower and my humidity is 26-27...should i get a humidifier

I have ran my flower setup with humidity in that range. You should be ok as long as it doesnt get lower. You see cannabis is a lovely plant. When the humidity gets low in flower it produces more trichomes to protect itself from drying out. Thats why you want to keep humidity levels below 50% during flower. I try to keep them between 30 and 40% during flower and between 40-60% during veg. You being right on the edge I wouldnt worry about it

get a 6 inch centrifulgal fan

I have a 6 inch high velocity inline fan which is very strong and it still isnt doing the trick. I might just get rid of the cooltube altogether. seems like I am wasting to much electricity on running the fan with no benefits.

where is the intake coming from

outside the tent in an air conditioned room. my room temp is around 64

Your doing something wrong. what is the make and model of your fan? Could you draw us a picture of how the air is flowing? I fucking love drawing
