I had to use copper oil fungicide this grow to combat septoria. Everything I read says OK to apply up to and including day of harvest. They even suggest spraying it on harvested fruits to preserve them. I cannot find if the residue left on buds is safe to smoke/vape or ingest. I've been reticent to wash off buds after harvest and don't wet them at all during the last weeks. I know THC/CBD are not water soluble but some tricomes are no doubt washed off with the action of spraying, so I have not. Yet I'm reticent to smoke something that has a little trace of blue residue on it.
 
Funny I saw this as I was going to the old thread where we spoke of this to see what ratio I mixed it at LOL because I'm getting ready to spray right now, I spray every weekend, this crop would have been gonners without it!

as far as I can ascertain it's safe to spray on Tobacco right up to the day you pick and smoke it, and it doesn't mention Bud washing anywhere on the literature that I could find

So it's copper, and from what I understand it works on the plant, not in it systemically, and I do wash my bud! there are some good articles on bud washing here if you're still reluctant

Frankly my concern is smoking the copper product and not the few trichomes that maybe knocked off Bud washing, I would expect a rainstorm to knock off a few more trichomes than a gentle Bud wash, good luck

Edit: by the way what the hell was the ratio we used?? I mix a gallon and I'm just finishing it up, and I can't remember if it was one tablespoon or two per gallon? LOL

One tablespoon per gallon every 10 days for three treatments. I stopped when buds started to open. Now with pistils all over I'm reticent. The problem was "fixed" so I stopped. The guy who sold it to me said to not worry about residue. I've misted the plants half a dozen times since application of the copper so I already washed most of it off. I'm not going to worry. If it kills me, you won't hear from me. If it tastes bad you will. I'll be ready to harvest right on the clock this year, and wow what a harvest it will be! This stuff seems to have a side benefit of repelling insects. I've no trace of caterpillars this year when they were a big problem last year. No other bugs either. Did it have the same effect for you? Take care.
 
I'm washing all my buds these days. I've had to deal with some bud rot, and do it to make sure I'm not smoking bad shit. But even on the "clean" buds, you would be amazed at the amount of shit that comes off in the wash water.

I use warm H2O2 water to wash them, then rinse in cold water. Since I do a lot of drying where there is no AC, I buck all the buds off the stems and use a salad spinner to get the water out of the buds. As long as you spread them so the buds are not piled up, they dry fine.

For longer limbs, just swish in a 5 gallon bucket a few seconds, then rinse in another bucket. Then hang with a fan blowing near them for 2-3 hours. After that, dry as you normally would.
 
This was some early flowering Ass Cheese I had to chop due to rot. Only thing I sprayed was neem oil, and nothing after 3rd week of flower. Look how dirty the water is.

That's pretty much how I Bud wash as well, I'm a big fan since I started doing it this year

Yes nasty stuff that neem oil, if I have to spray neem on my buds I put them in the hash pin, I don't like the taste

Gdub, I mix 1 oz to the gallon and for me it works fine, I've even stop burning sulfur

I haven't been bouncing. But if it taste bad it gets put on the back burner. At the end of the season I sort through and do lots of canna coconut oil. It takes up less room in the freezer.

TooLarry; I don't have any place to hang wet branches except outside. I could rig up a drying line to hang branches from. Would you place this in the shade or sun? I think sun to avoid disease but how long? I haven't washed before and have been sorry. I want to try it out.
 
I would make a roof with a tarp if you don't have any other option. If you are going to wash, you need to really get as much of the water out as possible. I lost bud when I first started by not getting it dry enough right away. If you don't have electricity for a fan, I would pick up a salad spinner. You have to buck the buds off, but it works really well. Takes some time though.

Right now I have a spot to dry with AC. Soon I will be using old sheds again. When it's really rainy and I have plants drying, I have been known to put them in old cars for a day or two. It is hot, but that is better than them molding due to being too wet.

In the shade? Don't we want the water out asap? Pop corn buds could be washed and spun but branches way too big. I'll hang those.
 
I was thinking more of the dew and rain getting on them. I guess you can sun dry for a day or two. {they do that down in Mexico, and we've all smoked our share of that} You can sling a lot of the water out of the branches.

But from all I have heard, the best thing is a. . . . .
