Somewhat new here. Been on RIU for a good while. Concentrates section brought me here but finally acquiring my own home as given me the ability to finally try something ive always wanted to do, grow my own. It has been a educational and fun time so far. Being that i work in the gardening line of work and have access to anything i need for very cheap, that helps out as well. I did alot of reading over the past year in growing and such and decided it was finally time to give my hand at it!
I started my Grow in Oct 8th. seeds with tails where planted in solo cups. The grow started in a empty closet that had some good shelving and was able to hang a DIY light. All seed where random bag seeds saved when found inside a bud. All from high grade stuff. Planted 4 in solo cups and 1 in a 1gal pot, 5 total.

Started to get colder out and with this closet having a access hole to hte attic it started cooling down in there. I decided to trek out and build a DIY tent. 28"x28"x60". Build that out of pvc, tarp, and reflective blanket on the inside. worked out nicely. Bought a ventech 4" inchline, carbon filter, and controller for 100$ shipped on amazon. Now we were in business, as it was starting to smell. Everyone grew larger to about 20 day when i built the tent.
biggest one got named Big Fatty. It had the 5 bulbs to itself so she grew low, big and bushy. everyone stayed nice and low as i kept CFLs in optimal range.

I ended up killing 1 plant due to space. Moved it down to 4. Everyone grew great. Had some issues with calmag since i used distilled water. Ended up hitting the local Hydro store and trying my hand at some Botanicare products. Bought my self some Pro Grow, Pro Bloom, and CalMag. Love this stuff already! Got all my problems corrected and started a few doses of the Pro Grow.
Popped my head in one night, still during 24/0 to notice 1 of my plants showing sex already! It was a girl. This was about day 32 from seed, vegging. I looked at the other 3, started to notice tinytiny hairs. All 4 where girls! WOW! Now im excited.
The only thing i could thing of was i started adding in more 2700k CFLs so they where probably mature enough to start showing and they where starting to stretch out. Then my 2 largest got moved to 3gal pots while the 2 skinnys got moved to 1.5gals. Everyoen was then flipped to 12/12 2 days later.

Since all 4 where girls i wasnt going to kill anyone off. Found a deal on a tent on amazon. 3'x3'x6'. Got that wiht my prime in 2 days and set it up. Was rolling along nicely with some more space for everyone.
about 7days into flowering, these skinny 2 wehre stretching hard. Everytime i checked them they where hitting the bulbs burning themselves. This got annoying. Forcing me to move the high light and further from Big Fatty and Lone Ranger who where more lower and bushier plants. I decided to hope on the zon and found a nice Apollo 400w hps kit. I was battling a cold basement as well so i knew the HPS would work great as it was cooler down there.
Got that installed yesterday and has been running great! didnt need to hook up the cool tube as its keeping temps at about 72 in the tent.Seeing 65 at night with lights off( basement is still heated with heater near tent ).
