Ok so here goes. I made a double batch but you can make a single the same way. Normally i will use 1 oz buds per 1 container of coconut oil. Around gram for gram.
So for double batch we will need 2oz buds. These are fluffy bottom buds. 2 containers of coconut oil. These are found in any grovery store. A crock pot and a coffee grinder($10 or so) and some cheese cloth.
Heres the buds. Grind them in the coffee grinder and put them in the crock pot.
Now put in the coconut oil and fill with water around 2/3's full or so
Put on the lid and run for 12 hours on low stir every now and then. After 12 hours it will look like this.
Now its time to strain it. Be warned it will be blazing hot from this point on try not spill it on you or touch the stock pot we're about to use.
Ok so what we'll need now is a stock pot, cheese cloth, some tongs, and a bungee cord or some string.
What we want to do now is put the cheese clot over the stock pot and use string or bungee cord to hold it in place while we pour the oil through it and then slowly pour it through. After it will look like this.
Now what you want to do is slowly and carefully take string/cord off and ball it up. Now take the tongs and squeeze it real good to get all the oil out.
Now you should be left with just oil that looks like this
Now wrap this up with some aluminum foil and put it in the fridge. It should completely harden in around 24 hours. Now you want to cut a whole and drain the water
Now remove the cana oil and should look like this
Its ok to cook with now but i prefer to wash the oil first. Just use the same stock pot and put just enough water to reach the bottom the lid on a mason jar. Cut the oil up in chuncks and fill the jar about half and fill with water. Just barely put the lid on the jar so that it doesnt fall off but still lets the air out while heating
Put it on the stove on high and just take it off as it starts to melt. Tighten the lid and shake it then loosen the lid and put it back in etc until its all the way melted. After its melted you'll notice the water is cloudy like this
What you want to do now is use the cheese cloth on another jar and strain it in and the put it in the fridge to harden. Just remember hot water cold jar and it might break. Now after it hardens do it two more times and the water should be alot clearer after the third wash
After it hardens your ready to bake! Use your own judgment on how much to use. I usually put 60 grams of oil in a batch of brownies and its plenty strong enough for me.
Enjoy!
