instead of using mason jars for cureing can i use a 5 gallon bucket with a lid +rep for good awnser's

Sure, it'll work fine. The key, is to make sure you mix the buds around, at least once a day, exchanging the stale air. That'll prevent mold from forming, and eliminates uneven drying.
