Curled and Wrinkled leaves | Probably just overreacting :)

Hey guys. It is my very first grow, so im still overcautious when every change occurs .

Last two days i noticed bigger leaves wrinkling, and newer ones curling. And as you'll see on the picture, top-sided leaf had self made cut on his left side whats up with that? (It coudn't be fans or anything like that).

Day 10, Nirvana's Blue Mystic



Temps: 25-29 °C
Lights: 3x 23w CFL
Soil: Blumenerde Universal ( 2/2/3 )

And a fan blowing on her when the lights are on

From what i'v read, here are potencial problems:

-Overwatering
-Hot soil
-Nitrogen or salt built-up
-pH problems
-Root-bounded

Or maybe im just paranoid

Feel free to tell me if everything is ok, or that my plant will die soon. Better than beeing uncertain

I would say overwatering or ph. I doubt it's hot soil. Usually that's burnt tips,edges. I don't think it would be buildup or rootbound yet.

So pH of soil is around 5,8. Not really sure for water ( between 6-8 )Should i start using rainwater? It probably has lower pH values (around 5-7)?

I'll cut down with watering for now, if it doesn't help ill do something about pH.

It's really something not to worry about. The mix is slightly hot but not hot enough to cause root damage.

I wonder why the maker of that mix chose a higher amount of potassium. What are the ingredients in that stuff? Generally with plant problems the issue is not pH. At least 80 percent of containerized plant problems are due to bad soil or soil composition. How is the drainage of your soil and what does it have for aeration? Aeration is extremely important as roots need o2. Plant looks fine just keep your leaves green!

Yea, soil is mostly peat and probably no perlit. It was a random soil sitting around, and it had least amount of fertilizers, so i woudnt burn young seedling.



However, i have better soil for transplanting. It has good nutes and good areation with perlit. If cutting down on watering doesnt help, ill just replant her into better soil.

Hmm... maybe she is wind burnt? I think that's what happens, leaves start to form a claw shape at the tips.

Although that wouldn't explain why the lower older leaves are not affected.

The label shows 1.5 KG/m3 of added fertilizers. Including N. And if it is all peat I am doubting the pH claimed on the bag.Most peat has a pH of around 4.0-4.5 out of the bag. Meaning no need to adjust your water or feed pH at all.

Gregor, i thought about that, but i didnt knew it would affect plants behavior. She was about 10cm from the fan, and shaking quite a bit. I will adjust lights and move her to the other side, so fans won't blow on her so hard.

And thanks Harley for clarifying about soil and pH. Good thing its probably one of those 'easier' problems

I don't see a problem. Just don't add any NPK until it needs it or just re pot when the time comes. Merry watering

i'v got a head band clone that looks bad also.. just going to give it little more time see if grows rite

Hey, here's a little update. It in fact was wind burned. Newer leaves are back to normal, so we are all good
