Hi just wondering if I can trim some of the larger fan leafes that are blocking light from other possible bud sites so they get more light and if yes how to cut them, and where.?

No no. Leave them

them leaves have nutrients and stuff in them. It's basically cutting away its food.

tie your branches back:weed:on a sec. thought you could tuck them.

The reason why I never fill the pot all the way up. Drill a small hole (big enough to run a rope/string through) and die the branches back. Keep enough slack in the string so it doesn't engrave into your stem and become part of your plant. If its leafs, just tuck them or leave as is. Another solution is adding Cfls as side lights

get a roll of green wire plant ties, its the garbag ties but in a roll, exactlylike dragon ses
just pull slightly enough to bring branch back alittle, not all the way to the rim tho:weed:

I start out by tucking leaves and branches in. Some will remain others may bounce back. As flowering progresses, I do some light trimming of leaves a couple times weekly. Taking care to only cut leaves that are blocking bud formation. As the plant really thickens I get a little more aggressive trimming leaves. I still try to do more tucking and leave as many fans leaves as I can. As others have stated they do provide food and energy.
