Hey guys I first posted this on grow journals but it didn't receive much attention. I'm just starting over from here.

Finished my grow box.. i used an old nightstand which i painted flat white on the inside, and I used pieces of cardboard boxes to make some flap doors. Seeing some pretty bad light leaks though. I'd love to hear suggestions from experienced folks. Right now I have two huge black plastic bags covering my entire setup.

Initial investments:
$57 10 Afghan Seeds+ 20 Free seeds
$25 Timer power strip
$36 CFL bulbs, Y-splitters, light socket adapters
$60 1 gallon plastic pots, foxfarm ocean forest potting soil, tiger bloom, grow big, tray, humidity dome etc.

Right now in my grow box i have two Y-splitters with 23W CFLs at 5500k color temperature. Just started germinating my seeds today and hoping to see some success in the next couple of days. Seeds were put in small lumps of compacted soil that expands in water ( no idea what it is called ) and placed in shotglasses filled with brita filtered water which was out overnight.

It's on day 19 now from seed. Looking really healthy and it looks like it's going to be a bushy one.

Started fox farm grow big nute solution on Day 14 like the feeding schedule told me to. Plants are looking really good. I don't know if i can LST with this kind of short, bushy plant though so i might need some help here.

It's my first grow so ANY input is WELCOME!

Hey guys...

I just changed my light set up this morning and went to work.. When i came back the lights fell down onto my plants and I think they were burning for 2 hours or so.. anyways.. Plants got burned up pretty bad..

What's your advice on burned up leaves? I already chopped them off with sterilized scissors..

I'm such a fucktard..

Anyways,, it's growing really well other than that lol I straightened out the plant today using bent paper clips. I'm actually planning to make this into a mother now if it turns out to be a fem.

Can someone please tell me what i should do with the burnt parts of the plants, and the consequences of the burn?

i would have just let it grow out of it i wouldnt cut anything till im ready to take cuttings...thats just me but it really shouldnt do to much i have had a few burnt leaves...

man plants are herty as hell.. if its fryed and crisp i gess insted of cliping it just rub your fingers around and it will just crumble off... that way when u get to the shit that is not fryed it wont crumble.. thus not doing any more dammage to the plant...

man i have a 150w hps for sale that would make your kush rock... cfls are cool but... if u could see the diff between the 2 side by side.. i got 2 plants under it ... fat buds.... so much resin. 100$ bucks bro i pay for shipping...lol no but man 150w for small space is the way to go... u can get the light bulb right next to the buds with out burning it...
i can take some pictures of my shit and post it on your thred if u dont mind.. than u could see what it can do...

Hey guys! Sorry for the late late late update.
A lot of things happened the past two weeks and I put some pictures up for you guys! Most importantly, I have committed to buy an HPS/MH convertible system. I have already started to LST my plant in my CFL closet. Oh also as you can see I have drastically changed my CFL setup within my closet, and now it allows for more vertical growth.

I have just started flowering my plant yesterday. By the looks and smell of it, I'm guessing it'll be a female :) Keeping my fingers crossed.

The smaller seedling is a mystery bagseed, but the weed was GREAT. I'm experimenting on this one though for the most part. I'll be growing it under 12/12 lights from seed to finish. Let's see how this one goes. I can't trust what people say online about 12/12 from seed because everyone says different things and I don't know who really speaks from experience. A picture is worth a thousand words my friends. I'll SHOW you what happens when you grow 12/12 from seed :)

cylee are those auto flowers or reglar seed? either way i would not use 12/12 light on either . If regular seed use 18/6 for 2 weeks then go to 12/12. If autos you can do 24/7 or 18/ 6. and they will flower on there own. I have some afgan kush going now, they were suppost to be autos but im think now they may be regular seed . But will find out. You can grow from 12/12 but why? no veg time means plants will be small. it takes about 2 weeks for a plant to mature, then put them on 12/12, for flower. just remeber that the longer you veg you plant the bigger it will be,bigger means more bud. If small is what you want, them i would think about auto flowers. if pics are what you want click on link and see for your self. i have autos and regulars going.

they're both regulars but I don't have space for a flowering room. I'm just experimenting on the other plant basically. The bigger plant has vegged for 3~4weeks now and is ready to get into flowering stage.

i have a question for you though:

in the third picture you see how I am moving that big fan leaf to show the growth under it? should i cut that fan leaf off? i feel like it's blocking growth. ALSO if i SHOULD cut it off, what is the best way? just clean scissors?

Nice grow man.. someone once told me that he clips everything that isn't being hit with tons of light.

dont cut any of that shit off ... The shoots will grow past the watter leaves and get all the light the need... u need the watter leaves for l8ter on in the plants life.. only trining i do is shit off the shoots.... not the head of the shoot but the side leaves to thin the plant out.. but dont ever trim during flowering.... U should top that plant over.. LSD is what it is called.. i just did it to my af kush.. my girl look just like yours... they are beautfull plants.. MY SLH is a beautfull plant also... i think u will have a kik ass grow with the 150 on top then the cfls on the side for the side light.. 2 1/2 oz i bet u get dry.... i will throw some pic on here to show u my kush..... she is showing me pre flowers also..... plus rep to u for growing a kick ass strain... l8ter bro
