Darkness & Heavy Trimming

Hey guys. Its my first grow and I will be having my first harvest this week. Big rains coming up, I'd say the trichomes are 70% cloudy, 25% amber and 5% clear (rough estimates) so I guess I'm on harvest window and will save me from having sone bud rot, which I had 3 weeks ago. I have some plants so I will try some stuff.

Was thinking about darkness for 48h and maybe do a heavy trim in the last 24h before cutting and hanging. Dry room is a big shed with temperatures between 18-24°C and humidity goes from 30 to 60 RH.

What do foi guys think about this? I've seen alot of info on the darkness stuff (from being bro Science to having experimental results). Not sure about the trimming. Was thinking of inducing some stress on the plant before the harvest.

You guys have some opinions on this matter?

I'm excited about the harvest! Almost 5 months from seed up to this point. I know I have one important step ahead - dry & cure. Just wanna try some stuff (but not ruin it!)

Focus on getting it dried slowly and carefully. The humdity especially needs to be controlled so it dries slowly. 30% will cause way more damage than you might get as a benefit from darkness.

50-60% is ideal imo.

I know that 50-60% RH is ideal but unfortunately I cannot control it. Its an old farmers wood shack without power and with 2 open windows, that was used to dry cereal and corn. I have to rely on Nature's own way. I have been monitoring it and when it gets really hot, the RH is around 30%. But it usually is around 55%. Fortunately big rains are coming, temperature will decline and humidity will raise, hopefully to those 50-70% range.

I would buy a tent ASAP on Amazon. In a tent you can have any humidity you want
I cant stress enough that high temps and low humidity can create a mediocre product.

With a tent and no power its only a matter of maintaining the humidity you want. Longer dry the better!
