Day 14, first grow questions

Day 14.. first grow. I'm wondering what is going on with the seedling leaves on a couple of the babys (see pic), burnt looking. Got the girls in a Jiffy organic seedling starter mix with a 20w LED/24hrs to start them. I'm getting ready to transplant them in a few more days. Any idea what is going on with the leaves? Can I transplant them and put them under my 315w CMH lamp without hurting them?

My first guess would be too little (but maybe too much) of some nutrient. Probably time to move them out of the seedling starter mix and into something more diverse :) Looking good!

They look slightly over fed but not beyond fixing. They are not ready to transplant in my opinion as they have not rooted their pots out and you will have dirt falling everywhere while trying to move them.
Trim the pots apart so you can monitor the weight better and then leave them in those for atleast another week or two. If you do transplant just go up to a solo cup size pot for now.

Can you dim the CMH, or raise it up to like 7ft, or can you provide some shade e.g. with fly screen?
or... do you have an intermediate sized light, or any additional 20w leds? :)

I was thinking that, but didnt want to have to transplant to often and stress the plant

Well I'd also wait for more root mass usually, but I don't usually start in seedling mix. When I went through a phase of using it, I remember seeing them stunt and stay seedlings if not transplanted.
If DobbieDon's seedling mix is like mine was, he'll probably soon be running up against that very limited nutrient availability. That's why I leaned towards it being a nutrient deficiency issue rather than overfeeding. :)

I keep mothers in 3” pots for over a year but yes obviously you will need to keep feeding them to runoff with a mild nutrient solution.

Actually I pop em into 12/12 as soon as they get the single adult leaves. I don't do soil grows though.

Ok, week 3 update. I transplanted my 6 seedlings into 1.5 gal container's. Im working with a Coots blend no till soil. So I cut my cover plot clover, left the clover and covered it with Malibu compost. I watered the pots thoroughly, dug a transplant hole, sprinkled some myco, transplanted and watered. I was worried about my 315w CMH being to strong so I split the group into 2 groups. 4 seedlings went into the tent with the CMH (after I raised it to around 40"), and 2 seedlings went back into my small tent with the low watt LED for a few days.. I noticed that the single leaves that grew before the 3 finger leaves have now yellowed and dried up pretty bad, but the other leaves look good.. should I be concerned. Did I transplant these girls correctly?

i imagine that when you can grow a full grown specimen without discoloring or drying out those 2 leaves then you have become the zen master.
