Day 40 of flowering and curious if this needs another week or 2??

I'd wait it out. I like all the hairs to turn orange before I chop. That being said, sometimes the top tip will take forever to ripen so I look at the buds below it to check for ripeness. You could probably chop now and still get ultra baked (nice buds), but waiting a few weeks has never done me wrong. There's always been a point where the doubt disappears. Nice buds

Buy something like this so you can inspect the trichomes, for % of cloudy/amber. Looking at the pistils isnt a good way to judge ripeness as some strains will orange excessively early and some will stay white far past.
