DAY 50 flowering SFV OG

New to the group, been growing for some time and big fan of the group. I do have a question for some of the more seasoned growers.
- Have anyone here ever harvested when all Trichomes are cloudy and less Amber? How was it?
- Have anyone here ever let the trichomes go over 50% Amber trichomes? How was that?

I'm leaning towards a more Amber to help with sleep.. any input is appreciated

Looks good but you probably have a few weeks to go. The heavier ripened buds for me definitely are more sedative and give me munchies. I shoot for all milky heads with some amber speckled here n there personally.

That's what I'm estimating also. The trichomes are mostly milky now with a few turning amber on the sugar leaves. The pistils are still pretty green.

Hi Sanchez! Thanks for posting.
In my earlier grow days I had harvested early a few times due to being impatient and anxious to cash in on the fruits of my labors. Having run the same clones again to full term I can say there is a big difference.
From my own experiences when harvest early the high is not as potent. Takes a lot more to smoke to get a level of high I like.
The nugs are not as dense. The terpenes are not as pronounced and the taste in the smoke is not there.
When I harvest at full maturity I noticed heavier, denser nugs. More flavor and funk (terps) pronounced.
and of course the high is longer lasting and more potent.

Your canopy looks dense! I hope you have great air flow

As calvin has stated a few more weeks to go. Don't starve. Don't flush. Keep them happy till the end. Looking good.

Thank you so much for that input. I am leaning towards a later harvest this time. This is also the biggest single plant I've ever grown personally. On a 25 gallon tote. The flowers are drooping and it's getting harder to maintain

Are you dealing with any pests? Spider Mites? Thrips?

Some white flies early on when it was warmer. When my lights turn off I pump it full of cold outside air.... It drops to around 55°F in there, it's been discouraging their population. I've been pretty fortunate in that department. But if I need to control pests I use neem oil.
