Day 52 of Flower
Vanilla Kush from seed, topped
DWC, 10 gallon res
600 watt HPS
PH 5.8
PPM 600
Nutes: Veg+Bloom
Temp never above 80-82, usually in the 70's

I only bumped the PPM to 600 about 2 weeks ago, before that it was always around 250-400 because this plant seemed to be a light feeder. Maybe I'm wrong and it needs more nutes? I know it's kinda late in the game but I'm learning and this is only my second grow so I'd like to know wtf is causing the leaf tips to do this.

It shouldn't be too high ppm + looks like its ~10-15 days away from harvest anyways.
Could be normal leaf degradation/yellowing from late flowering, not 100% sure.
If your Trichomes are 100% Cloudy or with just a few amber, it is probably done.
I'd be checking @ that stage of flowering!

Don't you just trim the leaf tips anyway? Don't smoke that crispy, its harsh.
Looks like great bud, when you try some give a Smoke Report.

Obviously yes that just gets clipped off so it won't affect smoke but I was just curious as to what it would be since if it is a deficiency or toxicity then that would affect growth, etc... It has been getting a LOT yellower as the days have gone on which could be it signaling the end of its life cycle so maybe I'm making more of this than it is.

Should I flush now for like 3 days? It's only day 52 but doesn't it look done now? Supposed to be a 60-65 day strain.

If that is pictures of the Trichomes from the Calyx, then it is done.
That's probably why it looks like it does.

Ok, my mistake... This is only my second grow so I'm still a little stupid :)

Those pics were from a regular leaf covered in trichomes... I clipped a calyx off and looked at it and the trichomes were clear and some cloudy, almost none were amber... Either way, I feel like this plant is going to be done very soon, I'm less than 2 weeks away from the advertised finish time so I've drained my res and put straight water in it... I'll be watching things from here on out closely.

the leaves will turn before the buds are ready. you need to look at the trichomes on the buds to figure out when it is done for the most part.

The last sentence you wrote hit the nail on the head. You're seeing end of life cycle effects. Your flowers look beautiful! Definitely making something outta nothin. Nice grow my man!!

You don't sound stupid at all. You've done a good job here. And you are also correct to start straight water now as we'll. It may not be two weeks til finished. If you have cloudy trichs now, then amber ones are coming soon. Definitely keep a close eye on them and remember to check in a few different places on the plants. Cheers!
